The Civil War: 1864 Battle of Resaca. Historian Brian Wills discussed the Battle of Resaca in Georgia, the first battle of the Atlanta Campaign in 1864. Union divisions crossed the Oostanaula River, flanking Confederate General Joseph Johnston's entrenched army and forcing a retreat. This was part of the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier's annual event in Petersburg, Virginia.
