Agrees basically with Pr Desmet [but has more to add] TTL wants to have control over every aspect of life. Works on ideology. A false belief is substituted for reality - to which all must adhere. It's is a delusion - does not match reality, a new reality is created. Based on mental pathologies:== - psychosis of paranoia, delusion of persecution. enemy at the start is the virus but can be replaced by another enemy - unvaxxed people. justifies action against the enemy. Paranoia = a reasoning madness. but it's false logic. 3 issues: delusion of interpretation; there is not logic; no relationship to reality --Needs an enemy to justify its existence and to maintain a state of terror.-- Harrassment is their technique.== - They manipulate the emotions. Must inflict repeated trauma over time. Involves both terror and empathy (wear mask so u don't kill grandma). Guilt and seduction, also blackmail, abuse of power. - induce loyalty conflicts, create situs where it impossible to choose (e.g., must choose between our health and our work). - harm the other - this is seen as necessary- in the name of a delusional and unreachable ideal (eradication of virus) - becomes the sacrifice of some citizens (possible bc the individual is no longer seen as an individual) - delusional hypochondria (Reiner: message must be driven home in a threatening way? calmness won't work?) --Mistrust is necessary - mistrust of all against all.-- page 1
