The Presidency "Government is the Problem". President Ronald Reagan delivered his 1981 inaugural address from the U.S. Capitol West Front -- a first. He vowed to turn around the economic crisis and said, "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem." He went to France mid-way through his presidency, in 1984, for the D-Day 40th anniversary and spoke of "the boys of Pointe du Hoc."

The Women's International League for Peace & Freedom was founded in 1915 by more than 1000 women from around the world opposed to World War I.
