"Rosie the Riveter" Congressional Gold Medal. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson presided over a U.S. Capitol ceremony awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to "Rosie the Riveters" for their World War II service on the home front. Mae Krier - who spent the war years on a Seattle aircraft production line - accepted the medal in the name of six million American women who served their country.
