Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a candidate for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, made a major foreign policy address at a campaign event at the Prado at Balboa Park Ballroom in San Diego, California. She laid out her national security vision for keeping Americans safe at home and continuing to play a leading role on the world stage. She contrasted her views with what she saw as the Republican vision for national security and especially the dangers of having Donald Trump as president.

Speaker Pelosi Remarks on Pres. Trump, Protests and Civil Unrest
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) gave a statement on President Trump's handling of protests and civil unrest that broke out across the country following the death of George Floyd while in custody of Minneapolis police. Holding a Bible as the president did the day before, the speaker quoted from the text and other presidents, arguing the president could have chosen a more appropriate response to be a "healer-in-chief." She also commented on the protests, saying it was "long overdue time for us to make some of that change that people were calling out for." She also condemned the destruction done by some of the protesters in several cities.

Campaign 2020: Joe Biden Delivers Remarks on Protests
Former vice president Joe Biden, the 2020 presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, delivered remarks at Philadelphia's City Hall on the civil unrest in reaction to George Floyd's death while in custody of Minneapolis police. Mr. Biden said the protests were the result of years of systematic racism in the U.S. which needed to be addressed. He also called on those destroying property to cease, saying such destruction was distracting from the central goals of the protesters. During his remarks, Mr. Biden also critiqued President Trump's handling of the protests in the nation's capital, and called on Congress to immediately start acting on ways to address racial inequities in law enforcement.
