Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking
Witnesses testified on the commercial sexual exploitation of American children within U.S. borders, and their subsequent rescue and rehabilitation. A panel of congressmen testified about legislation. Then experts testified about exploited children, including a brief video of an interview with a victim. Topics included the role of the Internet in this exploitation, focusing on Craigslist. Mr. Powell said that Craigslist would not be reopening the “adult services” section that it shut down earlier in the month. Craigslist legal counsel Elizabeth McDougall argued that in forcing Craigslist to remove a separate section for adult ads, lawmakers would actually be hurting their own battles against crimes like sex trafficking and child prostitution.

Donald Trump, a candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, talked about about national security issues at a campaign rally aboard the USS Iowa in Los Angeles. He also talked about veterans and making the military great again.
This Veteran’s for a Strong America rally was themed “Make America’s Military Great Again.” It included the national anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, and a presentation of colors.

Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton held a campaign rally in the Old Student Recreational Center of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. This was Mrs. Clinton’s first public appearance since recovering from pneumonia. During her speech, she stressed the importance of paid time off and affordable health care for all Americans. Mrs. Clinton said from now until November her campaign would focus on opportunities for kids and fairness for families. close
