National World War I Memorial Sculpture Illumination. The bronze centerpiece of the National World War I Memorial was unveiled in Washington, D.C., and presented to the American people. "A Soldier's Journey" stretches nearly 60 feet and features 38 individual figures telling the war's story. Sculptor Sabin Howard and lead designer Joe Weishaar delivered remarks at the event hosted by the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission and the Doughboy Foundation.
