Justices Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg talked about their views of the First Amendment and the origins and contemporary meanings of freedom. They were also asked questions about National Security Agency surveillance programs, cameras in the courts, and their personal friendship. They also answered questions from audience members. This program was part of the "The Kalb Report," produced by the George Washington University's Global Media Institute in partnership with the National Press Club and the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School.

President Trump with Coronavirus Task Force Briefing
President Trump and members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force held a briefing on the federal government's response to the pandemic. The president, along with Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, announced a $19 billion relief program to assist farmers, ranchers, and consumers who have been hit by the pandemic. The package includes a program to purchase $3 billion worth of fresh meat, dairy, and produce in order to help farms that have been struggling, as well as to allow for the distribution of food to those in need. Also during the briefing, Vice President Pence provided an update on coronavirus testing, saying to date over 3.7 million coronavirus tests have been conducted, and that "our best scientists and health experts assess that today we have a sufficient amount of testing to meet the requirements of a phase one reopening if state governors should choose to do that."

House Judiciary Committee Field Hearing on Crime in New York
The House Judiciary Committee held a field hearing on New York City that the committee says "will examine how Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime and a dangerous community for New York City residents." Witnesses included victims of crime and relatives of victims of crime, a city councilmember, and the president of the New York City detectives' union.
