You called Your servant Francis from the ends of the earth
to shepherd Your Church with humility and love.
He walked among the poor, spoke for the voiceless,
and carried the light of Christ into the shadows of our time.
On Easter Sunday, frail in body but strong in spirit,
he offered his final blessing to the world,
a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication.
Receive him now into the joy of Your eternal embrace.
May the angels lead him into paradise,
and may he rest in peace,
having fought the good fight and kept the faith.
Grant Your Church peace and unity,
and raise up shepherds who will continue his mission
of mercy, justice, and compassion.

Homeland Security @DHSgov - On April 8, Jose Hermosillo approached Border Patrol in Tucson Arizona stating he had ILLEGALLY entered the U.S. and identified himself as a Mexican citizen. Border enforcement processed Mr. Hermosillo lawfully.
Days later, his family presented documents showing proof of U.S. citizenship. The charges were dismissed and he was released. 
Mr. Hermosillo’s arrest and detention were a direct result of his own actions and statements.
