Al Gore on Climate Change Legislation
Former Vice President Al Gore and Senator John Warner testified on the American Clean Energy Security Act of 2009. The proposed legislation would cut carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases by 20 percent by 2020 and by 83 percent by mid-century. It further requires that utilities produce one quarter of their electricity from renewable sources by 2025. In his remarks, Vice President Gore called the bill "a moral imperative" as important as civil rights legislation of the 1960s.

President Trump delivered remarks at a working-lunch with United Nations Security Council ambassadors at the White House. During the lunch, the president said the security council's failure to adopt a resolution condemning Syria's use of chemical weapons was a "great disappointment." He also said the council must be prepared to impose additional and stronger sanctions on North Korea's nuclear and ballistic program.
