Gabrielle Cuccia @gabbycuccia - BREAKING: An F/A-18E Super Hornet and a tow tractor were lost overboard from USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) while operating in the Red Sea today.
The aircraft, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 136, fell into the sea after the move crew lost control during towing inside the hangar bay.
All personnel are safe, with only one sailor sustaining a minor injury.
An investigation is underway.
Despite the incident, the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group remains fully mission capable, comprising the carrier, Carrier Air Wing 1, three guided-missile destroyers, and the cruiser USS Gettysburg.
