President Biden Remarks on the War in Gaza
"The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed," said President Biden, responding for the first time to former President and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's conviction on 34 felony charges in his hush money trial. President Biden said the former president was entitled to appeal the decision and called it "reckless, dangerous, and irresponsible" for anyone to call the process "rigged" because they did not like the verdict. In addition, President Biden gave an update on the Middle East amid the Israel-Hamas war and announced a three-part Israeli-led proposal to Hamas that would include a ceasefire, hostage return, and reconstruction in Gaza.
