Doug TenNapel (blue check implied) @DougTenNapel - I'm a big supporter and advocate of both you and @RepMTG, and I use a lot of Ai. I'm also aware of the woke billions spent to try to influence us to fear Ai. But I think you're wrong on this one, but you could be right with a few adjustments.
Go ask the thousands (maybe millions) of creators damaged because of the similar Section 230 moratorium. It went way to far and lasted way too long. Shorten the moratorium and offer specific carve outs and clarify the intent.
The worst (and likely) result of a "blanket pardon" will be that Woke Ai owners will be able to perform full-on criminality and states will be shackled from doing anything about it.
Part of how we keep the government small is to empower states to find recourse. Agree about the 50 regulatory regimes that would pop up at the state level and tie our progress up in courts just like how we have 600 judges going after Trump.
Notice, I'm not displaying Doomerism at all. We don't ever want to sacrifice liberty for security, but I saw the liberty of Youtube, Twitter and Facebook users screwed over by Section 230.
Like Big Tech under Section 230, the Ai platforms could just cancel or remove MAGA users and we'd have no recourse. I saw it first hand under Section 230.
Ai should be treated just like any other free speech tool. Though I am suspect of over-regulation and frivolous lawsuits, I trust woke Ai CEOs with blanket protection even less.

While I agree with MTG on most issues (especially Ukraine), in this case I believe that a temporary moratorium on state AI regulation is the correct small government position.
The alternative is a patchwork of 50 different regulatory regimes driven by the AI Doomerism that is becoming a dominant strain on the American and European Left. Funded and astroturfed by left-wing Silicon Valley billionaires like Dustin Moscovitz, the constant fear-mongering is intended to scare us into adopting their agenda of Regulatory Capture, WokeAI, and Global AI Governance. They already have regulatory initiatives underway in most Blue states as well as European capitals. (Some Republicans are also falling for their fake “China Hawk” rhetoric, even though AI over-regulation primarily benefits China.)
A federal moratorium on state regulation is justified under the Commerce Clause when inconsistent state laws would substantially burden interstate commerce. That is the case here. The America First position should be to support a moderate and innovation-friendly regulatory regime at the federal level, which will help rather than hobble the U.S. in winning the AI race.

Ed Martin @EagleEdMartin - Have you heard of a “Brady violation“?
It’s when a prosecutor hides evidence from a defendant. It’s the worst kind of bullying and it’s the opposite of American justice - NOT DUE PROCESS.
Biden DOJ was Brady bullying the American people every damn day.

Ed Martin @EagleEdMartin - Did the Unselect Jan 6 Committe of @Liz_Cheney and @SpeakerPelosi ask any questions about Brady disclosures? Did they ask about due process and prosecutors using power over defendants? NO. They did not. Why? Bullies don’t protect. BULLIES HURT. AND BULLIES HIDE THE TRUTH.
NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.
