DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Larry, like me, did not set out to take on USAID. He set out to understand migrant problem and found out that USAID was financing cartels for human trafficking assistance. The cartels then became empowered due to money, and destablized their country further.
Positive feedback loop - but also, these countries were destabilized because of Marxism. But the enormous amounts of money we spend on soft power was supposed to STOP that from happening in the first place.
I think one of the most important questions we'll be answering together is - how much of the big picture is engineered? Versus self-serving?

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Remember this essay by George Soros that laid out the new goal for NATO - that world peace should no longer defined by absence of war, but by how many countries can be forcibly transformed into Open Societies?
I'm behind in scanning documents due to travel, but I got my first batch of NED Annual Report drops today. Never been before digitalized.
And NED in 1995 was very open in talking about transforming other countries to "open societies" and working with George Soros to do so.
In fact, CIPE (NED's free market economics arm) developed a "corporate governance" model alongside Open Society Fund for postcommunist countries.
Why did we allow an outside entity such as George Soros to dictate our post-Cold War foreign policy?

DC_Draino @DC_Draino - Remember in 2015 when he was on the debate stage with 17 other candidates and he was the ONLY guy that called out the Bush family for Iraq

Dept. of Agriculture @USDA - TRADE WINS!
@SecRollins announced greater market access to Thailand and Vietnam, and maintained access to Brazil for American ag producers including dairy producers, apple growers, and stone fruit growers.
The Trump Administration continues to break down non-tariff barriers and defend current market access, with many wins ahead! https://usda.gov/about-usda/news/press-releases/2025/06/16/make-agriculture-great-again-trade-wins-president-trump-secures-greater-ag-market-access-brazil

Department of Defense @DeptofDefense - The President recently ordered a change to the Unified Command Plan. This change shifts Greenland from the U.S. European Command area of responsibility to the U.S. Northern Command area of responsibility.
Consistent with the President's intent and the Interim National Defense Strategic Guidance, this change will strengthen the Joint Force's ability to defend the U.S. homeland, contributing to a more robust defense of the western hemisphere and deepening relationships with Arctic allies and partners.
As required by Congress, the Department of Defense reviews the UCP every two years and as needed to ensure that each combatant command is properly structured and has the right resources to carry out its assigned missions and protect U.S. interests around the world.
