Bill Melugin @BillMelugin_ - If the OBBB passes, ICE will be supercharged on a massive scale:
- $45 billion to more than double ICE detention capacity to roughly 100k beds.
- $14 billion for transport & removal.
- $8 billion to hire 10,000 additional ICE personnel, more than doubling current 5k deportation officers.
- $1.3 billion for ICE OPLA (additional attorneys & support staff).
- $858 million for signing & retention bonuses.
- $787 for state/local participation in ICE/DHS efforts.
- $700 million for technology enhancements.
- $650 million for 287g/local ICE cooperation.
- $600 million for recruitment, hiring, & onboarding.
- $200 million for fleet modernization.
- $20 million to detain aliens with their children.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told me this funding would be a “game changer” for the agency.
This would give one of President Trump’s biggest agenda items - mass deportations - a massive shot in the arm.

Bill Melugin @BillMelugin_ - The ACLU is taking a victory lap after a federal judge (Obama appointee) blocked Trump's Jan. 20th executive order declaring an invasion at the border and banning asylum to anyone crossing the border illegally.
"This is a hugely important decision. Not only will it save the lives of families fleeing grave danger, it reaffirms that the president cannot ignore the laws Congress has passed and the most basic premise of our country’s separation of powers," - ACLU says.
The border has been quiet and locked down with Trump's executive order in effect, with June seeing the lowest number of illegal crossings in recorded history.
The Trump admin will undoubtedly appeal, as White House Deputy Chief of Staff @StephenM blasts the judge's decision, writing:
"To try to circumvent the Supreme Court ruling on nationwide injunctions a marxist judge has declared that all potential FUTURE illegal aliens on foreign soil (eg a large portion of planet earth) are part of a protected global “class” entitled to admission into the United States."

Bishop J. Strickland @BishStrickland - A Pastoral Letter in Response to the NRLC’s “The Status of Abortion in the United States: 2025 Edition”
July 2, 2025
To the faithful and to all people of good will,
With grave concern and unwavering conviction, I write in response to the National Right to Life Committee’s (NRLC) latest report, titled “The Status of Abortion in the United States: 2025 Edition,” published in June 2025. This report offers a clear and sobering assessment of the national abortion landscape in the post-Dobbs era — and its findings should awaken every conscience in America.
According to the report, chemical abortions now account for over 60% of all abortions performed in the United States. These drugs are increasingly accessible online, with dangerous consequences for both unborn children and vulnerable women. The report also highlights the surge of abortion “shield laws” — state measures designed to protect abortion providers from prosecution and obstruct interstate enforcement of pro-life laws.
Even more troubling is the report’s documentation of the rise in state constitutional amendments that enshrine abortion as a fundamental right — including efforts in Michigan, California, and Vermont, and similar movements now underway in several more states. Meanwhile, at the federal level, legislation like the Women’s Health Protection Act threatens to erase all state-level pro-life protections, while conscience protections for medical professionals and religious institutions face increasing hostility.
