Lt. Gen. Borgschulte played football for the Naval Academy before graduating in 1991. A career Marine Corps aviator and combat leader whose assignments span multiple MEUs, Marine Aircraft Groups, and joint commands, including combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He has commanded at every level, earned distinction at the Naval War College, and served in key operational and strategic billets across the Marine Corps and Joint Staff.
This marks the first time in history that a Marine has led the Naval Academy.
