Attorney General Eric Holder on LGBT Issues
Attorney General Holder talked about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights issues. He talked about the Obama administration's pro-equality successes including the Justice Department Civil Rights Division's work with local law enforcement on LGBT discrimination, and filing the first indictment under a federal hate crimes law. He also reminded the lawyers that much work needed to be done, and challenged them to use the current "momentum" to win equal rights.

Mr. Ceren responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, with the telephone lines divided between those who supported and opposed the deal.

Campaign 2024: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Makes Presidential Campaign Announcement
2024 independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced the suspension--though not termination--of his campaign during remarks in Phoenix. He explained he would remove his name from the ballot in battleground states in order to not be a "spoiler" for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, whom he said he would support against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Mr. Kennedy then described the process that led him to meet and endorse Mr. Trump, saying they agreed on certain issues such as ending "forever wars," eradicating childhood disease, and promoting free speech. Moreover, he said he unsuccessfully tried to reach out to Vice President Harris about possibly working with her, but she declined to meet with him. He did not take questions from reporters.
