Leader Jeffries and House Democrats already unsuccessfully debated this on the Floor, and had the opportunity to do the right thing over two weeks ago to vote to keep the government open—and all but one of them blew it. 
Once Senate Democrats decide to release the hostage and reopen the government, bipartisan discussions and work can continue.
