Curtis Sliwa @CurtisSliwa - No matter your party, this race is about us vs them. Working people in NYC have faced years of decline under Cuomo, Mamdani, and the DSA. They ignored our struggles while the city became more expensive and unsafe. This movement is for all of us, and together we will be heard.

Cynical Publius @CynicalPublius - RE: “The Great Feminization”
Below is an amazing article that I consider a “must read’ for anyone who wants to understand how American society changed so much, so badly, so quickly. (I'll link to the actual article one post below because the algorithm hates third party links.)
However, the one area the author missed is the US military. I have long decried what I call the “mommyfication” of the US military, so let’s talk about that.
First, I have served with some amazing, brave female soldiers and there are plenty of women buried in Arlington. Despite this, I think it’s fair to say that men and women, as a general rule, problem-solve and lead using fundamentally different mental paradigms. Men tend to be more quickly decisive with tough problems and are little concerned about the emotional components of their decisions. Women tend to be far more collaborative with decision making and tend to factor in the emotions of all around them when making a decision. (As the author of the original article mentions, there are always exceptions to such generalizations, but most generalizations have a basis in fact.)
Collaborative decision making DOES have a place in the military. Good leaders solicit the advice of trusted subordinates and colleagues, but good leaders also tend to act decisively when decisive action is needed. While good military leaders will consider the ideas of others, at the end of the day they will (when needed) act boldly without regard for the disagreement or emotions of those subordinates who want to do things differently. (Think of that scene in the movie Patton where Patton disregarded the emotion-laden advice of Omar Bradley and Lucian Truscott to delay an amphibious assault in the Italian campaign.)
Decisive leadership is good military leadership.
Fully collaborative leadership is bad military leadership.
Now be honest; who tends to act more decisively and less collaboratively as leaders, men or women?
Be honest.
