In the average Catholic Church in the United States, less than 5% of the congregation provides 80% of the financial resources.
In the average catholic congregation, more than 60% of Church goers don’t give anything to the Church in any calendar year.
As a priest, you simply learn how to function on a bare bones income.
You learn to go forward, knowing most Catholics won’t give at all.
To put it bluntly, priests are used to Catholics not giving anything but opinions.
I’m absolutely astounded that some priest somewhere did that.
