Kitco NEWS @KitcoNewsNOW - #Gold made a good recovery towards the end of the day and in overnight trading. On the 1 month chart, the gold price needs to get above $4160 and stay there, on good volume, to confirm a mid-longer term breakout. 
Currently, volume has been weak on this rebound and both RSI and MACD have rolled over a bit to form the makings of a small top. There could be another move lower from here in the coming days, but hopefully not like what we just went through. MACD, RSI, and Volume will show the way.
The 1 Year chart still shows an ominous price chart and a very elevated MACD, but the RSI is coming down to reasonable levels, which has helped give this recent move higher some punch.
Crude Oil is shooting higher, with new US sanctions on Russian oil producers, so that will cause inflation to stir, which should also give the gold price some tail wind.
The US Dollar looks to have completed a double bottom (July & September), which will send it higher in the near term. This would usually be a negative for gold, but gold has shown the ability to move higher in spite of a stronger dollar recently.
We'll see how this plays out.
