Andy Ngo @MrAndyNgo - Flashback: Somalians in Minnesota tried to help their brethren escape justice at a massive fraud trial by giving a juror around $200,000 in a cash bag for returning a "not guilty" decision in the verdict. They picked a black female juror and said she could try to convince the others that the prosecution was white supremacist and racist. The juror reported the attempted bribe to the court.

Five Somali Muslims have been charged for allegedly trying to bribe a juror to acquit their brethren on trial who were accused of stealing $40m of American taxpayer money meant to feed hungry children. (Five were convicted at trial earlier this month.)
The bribe suspects allegedly carried out a plan where $120k was given to a juror with the instruction that she had to convince other jurors the prosecution was racist. They promised more money. Three of the suspects allegedly destroyed evidence from their phones when they were ordered to surrender evidence.
This is the first time in Minnesota history that bribes were made in a federal trial.

Anna Paulina Luna @realannapaulina - Ninety former House members signed a letter calling on @SpeakerJohnson(R-La.) and House Minority Leader @RepJeffries(D-N.Y.) to pass legislation prohibiting members of Congress and their families from owning or trading individual stocks. In a letter, published Tuesday, the former elected officials urged the top Republican and Democrat in the House to hold a floor vote on the Restore Trust in Congress Act, saying they “strongly recommend attaching this legislation to a ‘must pass’ package before the conclusion of the year.”

Anna Paulina Luna @realannapaulina - I would say the term is more frustrated lol. Anxious is what happens when you get nervous. I’m not nervous. I’m pissed lol. Either which way I’m all ears for a solution. The insider trading is really bad and even the speaker knows it. I like Mike. Mike is a good guy. I hope he backs me on this one.

NEWS in @PunchbowlNews Midday:
@SpeakerJohnson said he believes members of Congress should be able to own stocks.
He said said that the institution should clamp down on insider trading.
"So there’s probably a way to do that that still allows for lawful conduct by members. … You don’t want another deterrence for good people running for office."
JOHNSON said @realannapaulina "gets anxious and wants things to happen quicker.” He wishes she didnt file discharge petition.
