Eight-year-old Sammy is back at Grand Teton National Park, and she came ready to work. Thanks to @MakeAWish, she spent the first day of summer doing what she loves most: learning, exploring, and helping others enjoy this place she clearly adores.
She tracked wildlife, practiced deploying bear spray, and brought her whole family along for the ride. She also suited up in full uniform, got sworn in as a junior park ranger, and headed straight to the front desk to hand out maps and welcome visitors, hat slightly too big and smile way too bright.
Most importantly, Sammy reminded us of what lies at the heart of a great park ranger: curiosity, courage, compassion, and a deep love for national parks.
