no, that's just a skin for a class. it's a class system, but I guess the skins with voice lines and all can make them more like "heroes" sometimes. in some games you can disable skins client side to make the game less silly, idk if that's the case in KF2 though I never looked into it. it's not a particularly serious setting anyway
