In the US the average yearly profit (after costs, etc..) for rentals is like, 8%, but its highly uneven and commercial renters/renters for the gov inflate it. 5% is considered a "good deal".
The US treasury pays 5% per year in the 10 year plan, without having to do any work for it and with (technically) zero risk. And its likely not even close to the best zero work zero risk deal.
