>>/59788/ The way I see it Prometheus may have actually been the sequel that deviated the least from the core ideas of the original (cosmic horror, body horror, esotericism, Giger aesthetics). That's why it's my favorite. It's an actual, honest, worthy sequel, not a rehash or a reskin or the "Market Research Edition" that was Aliens (which wasn't bad by any means). There was genuine inspiration there. In hindsight I think the design of the engineers could've been better, and having read chunks of the original script I realize they should've kept a lot more of it in the movie. But it's still my favorite. Even without xenos, it feels more like Alien than all of the sequels with the word "Alien" in their titles. But I know you'll probably disagree and that's fine, art is subjective and whatnot. I love you, you love me, we're a happy family > Feels a bit like a mix of the Lost in Space show with Alien Covenant felt a lot like that at times. But I'll give the new one a fair chance, maybe tomorrow night
