I went through "Another World" by "Light Field Reverie" last night. Which is just another one of Heike Langhan's (the hot goth) numerous projects. I enjoyed it quite a bit overall. Very moody, atmospheric and airy as with everything she's involved in. It's the red wine at 5 AM kind of music. The songs don't really work on their own, the album is best experienced as a whole. A possible exception would be the last track which also happens to be the most catchy by virtue of some neat synths. Sadly it also contains one of those typical samples of some pretentious old man yapping, and it's a pretty long one too. It doesn't ruin the song much less the album, but it does bring it down a bit. And just like with Heike's other project Remina, conceptually the music is gorgeous but the execution never really manages to realize that conceptual greatness. Sometimes it gets so close to how it SHOULD be but the music never really reaches the greatness that is implied and suggested through its rather ambitious or pretentious (in the good sense) choice of style and themes. I'm gonna give it an 8. Was originally going to be a 7 but halfway through writing this post I remembered that latin american youtube front page music exists and that made me feel a little less demanding all of a sudden
