that's just how it normally goes I think. religion is like this resource our minds have available that is called upon in times of need. I wouldn't know what it was like back when people actually went to church, maybe people did engage with it on a more regular basis, maybe they only attended due to peer pressure and didn't actually care about any of it. do you think it's enough that you know your inner self and your good intentions or do you think there should be a divine authority to validate your self perception. I think it's fitting that validation is the usual reason that my mind turns to religion because it's what I've never gotten from people
