it's one of the games of all time. the over the shoulder control scheme was a huge step forward, hence why every RE game since then (I think?) has used it including the remakes of the old ones. tank controls weren't even good in the 90s, even if some people are understandably nostalgic about it. Leon is a great protag in that he's the digital non-embodiment of the cool white male trope, like a vidya JCVD, or better, but none of the normie redditor fans will ever admit that's something they like about the game. overall 8.2/10 it's okay. but no it's a great game, just not the best RE game, that'd have to be one of the first 3. most people would say 2 or 3 but I started with 1 on the PSX and had a lot of fun with it
