The controls are what made me disinterested back in the day. I was playing SOCOM 2 around that time so I didn't want to play something with tank controls and a crosshair that moves all around the screen. It does seem like a cool game though.

People talk about stick drift today, SOCOM 2 had a slider to adjust stick deadzone and acceleration, and that was in 2003.

Interesting. Crypto was not a word that was being thrown around commonly in 1997. On it's own I wouldn't think anything of that, but The Simpsons are notorious for predicting things.
