That was probably the executive pitch, but execution-wise its got more soul to it, its more nerdy than Stranger Things getting into a bit more depth on physics and technology, and its more gritty with higher stakes and less soft characters overall.
Its also more trad, being about family and the adults not being fucking retarded blobs.
