I have not watched it. I am not a big fan of those murder shows where they are purposefully visceral. The whole opening credits of Dexter is a good example of what I mean.

True, it's mostly emotional outbursts. 
For Maya it's bigger because she's made her whole life about being vegan, she has written books and appeared on some German tv I think. It would be hard for anyone to admit they were wrong on that scale. Maybe she would be sick as a meat eater too, but as a vegan the problem is compounded for her. 
I hope she figures it out so she can put some weight on.
