Voegelinian Metastatic Faith = They believe we are in a crucial point in history, be due to technological developments such as AI, be due to existential threats such as the internet waking up people to their fuckery, be monetary revolutions of the financial system getting too rigged, etc... 

This means that they see it as if their rivals wins they will be erased from reality, and if they win they can erase their rivals and anything bad they did to win from reality. Its the 'philosopher stone'.
This is a parallel to the end of WW2, the race for nuclear weapons, Project Manhattan having zero stops and morality to get there first and the subsequent rewriting of events.

This perception is actually false, in the end the atomic bomb was not the philosopher stone, and it did not bring about a (public) supreme new leadership of the world. Could it have? I don't think so. There is a ruling class, but it can't do anything it wants, they are not god emperors.

We can bet the events are going to play out similarly in this cycle, so with that knowledge, how could we have fucked with them in the first cycle? 
If we had a powerful catholic church we could force a new kingdom by outsmarting them, but we can't have that while the nihilistic crisis is going.
So the next best thing would be recording all of the events autistically, to deny the next rewriting cycle, and make it so they are at a massive disadvantage afterwards. 
With the little we managed to salvage from the last cycle we already got pretty far, what if there were a more concrete effort to document all of the inconvenient facts and protect them?
