I assume you are somewhat familiar with metallurgy and the atomic bonds/crystal formations, etc... This is very much related to this subject. Plato, and those even more ancient guys, had atomic theory even back then. They reasoned how those bounds work, and reasoned part of quantum theory. The principle of the wave nature of things and how perceived reality is made of standing waves, but that is not the whole reality.
