The only time the world is good (or even feels real) for most people is childhood.
Afterwards most people can't really believe in it anymore, and just either live of nostalgia and pretending to enjoy it. It plays hugely in that infantilization theory I mentioned before.
But you can see the normies too stop enjoying new things and just keep trying to relive the good times. Its kinda how the whole Gnostic thing happens.
