The Snowcrashian view is that we can't put the genie of technological/cultural development back in the bottle, so we are better off evolving tech (and people) fast enough to the point society rediscovers God sooner. And trying to fight to perpetually keep humanity stupid is no solution and just extends the crisis.

So I hope that people like Musk are not stardust believers and work towards tech with the intention of reaching that point.
As for Land, he aligns with that accelerationist view, but he surely never let on to believe it leads to a return to God, he loves the spook dark horror. That may be a facade to trick the redditors, but I doubt it.
