There are a lot of Filipinos here and especially those married to U.S. troops. I know several. We have a ton of Vietnamese as well, in the area I grew up I think I mentioned more than half the high school was Vietnamese. and there were literally hundreds of students with sir name Nguyen. In fact, I once had two friends in undergrad both named Than Nguyen and one was a boy the other was a girl. I technically dated the girl once and tutored her in English, yes, the blind leading the blind.
Her parents still didn't know English and she was such a friggin liar, I couldn't stand her though she had a f'able body. I dated another half-Vietnamese girl, I had a friend in high school named "Charlie" who's father was a Vietnam war vet and took him from his mother, leaving her in Vietnam. Imagine naming your son Charlie? (That's a slang name for the Viet Cong.) I wonder if he had a daughter if he'd have named her slope? Dud was a hoarder and had two mansions side by side both filled with junk. (remember I grew up house poor in a rich area.) So Charlie ended up doing nothing with his life, when his father died he inherited millions in property, millions in cash and millions in other assets. The property taxes on his properties was more than I make a year in today's money. He was dumb as a post too and married a girl from Thailand after visiting there several times to likely screw underage girls.
But yeah, in terms of population, Philippines are probably the most populous Asians here. I just looked it up, in high school we obviously moved to a Vietnamese laden area but Philippines outnumber Vietnamese here 4:1 still the whites here are only 40%, 30% Hispanic, like 15% Asian and 6% black as compared to U.S. 61.6% white making this a more diverse city.
