Hahaha oh man, the same could happen here, I guess middle aged ladies are the same everywhere. Often they are also inept when it comes to technology so they just do some crazy stuff. For whatever reason my mother gave my contacts to one of her friends and I started to receive a lot of messages from that lady that clearly weren't meant for me. She just accidentally sent them to everyone in her entire address book or something. Took a long time and her son to teach her how to stop that. These people have zero awareness, it's a miracle they do not get scammed more often.

> why the fuck do all viets have the same name?
Family names were never important in Vietnamese society. It was something the Chinese introduced to tax them. People often changed their surname to that of the local nobles or rulers to show their affiliation. You didn't want to stand out as 'belonging' to another hostile noble family as a peasant. Basically Nguyen dynasty took over the country so most people changed their surname to that.

> or did they just make up some john doe name
Not entirely wrong. When your dynasty was overthrown you didn't want to be associated with their name under new rulers. Nguyen was always safe because everyone was Nguyen.

It's somewhat similar to Park in Korean but opposite. In Korea the family name is extremely important and the Park clans were always powerful. You could trace back your heritage to an ancient king Park. So it's good to be Park.
