An 18-year-old man was to plan a terrorist attack on the building of the state office in Poland with the help of a shahid belt. He was detained by the Internal Security Agency. The Pole switched to Islam in late 2022, was to be inspired by the Islamic State.

The arrest of a man who planned to carry out a terrorist attack was carried out by officers of the Wrocław branch of the out-of-town Poznań delegation of the Internal Security Agency on 16 June in the Lower Silesian province - the press office of the Minister of Special Services coordinator announced. The fact that an 18-year-old Polish citizen intends to carry out a terrorist attack by the ABW has obtained information in the course of his business activities - it is noted.

"The suspect kept in touch with people who claimed to be representatives of the terrorist organization 'Islamic State - IS'. The detainee acted with them in agreement"

The office indicated.

After arresting Homeland Security, she searched the whereabouts of the man and revealed evidence of a planned crime, according to forensic information. The man was supposed to collect information and semi-finished products to perform the shahid belt, with which he planned to carry out the assassination - was given.

ABW officers also conducted searches at the residence of persons who remained in contact with him and had knowledge of the planned assassination.

"In late 2022, a man converted to Islam. In his activity he was inspired by the activities of +Islamic States+ and modeled at the leaders of terrorist organizations such as Osama Bin Laden, Abubakr Al-Bahdadi, Anwar Al-Awlaki"

– said the press office of the Minister of Special Services coordinator.

The minister in KPRM pointed out that "the detained radical is another person in recent years who has fallen into the hands of the ABW and has heard allegations related to terrorist activities".

"The agency constantly takes care of our safety and responds effectively to threats" - emphasised Żaryn.
