Here is a silly rant I just want to get off my chest, so ignore this if you don't care about the drama. However, if you are Kay, I suggest you read ALL of this (it's a lot, I know).
Oh my god, Kay is always the worst when it comes to handling drama about herself.
I hate to be the one to say it, but if the purpose of this video was to shed some light on the impersonator accounts of her, then she's done a terrible job.
I don't hate Canthinky, but it hurts to see her handle situations like these because she never makes it seem as serious as she probably actually thinks it is—always trying to play it off. Why can't she just make a serious video?
In this video, you can see:
- She’s got a funny dog filter on.
- She’s playing goofy PewDiePie music.
- She has a very flippant expression on her face.
- She’s doing a bunch of silly hand-gesture emotes.
Clearly, at first glance — if you didn’t read the text—you wouldn’t know this was about serious topics such as stalking, threats, impersonators, and oversexualising her younger self. Yet that is exactly what this video is about. To someone not in the know, they’d likely think she doesn’t care much about what she’s saying.
This, of course, is not the only instance of Kay not taking drama seriously. There was another time when Kay was getting a lot of hate and allegations (I can’t remember why).
You know what her response video was?
She very briefly brushed over the allegations without actually resolving anything, and a large segment of the video was just her doing cringy impressions of interviews about herself. Great.
Usually, a normal person in this situation would act sensibly and speak with a serious attitude rather than simply plastering text over a lipsync video like Kay just did. The truth is, you need to stop with this TikToker persona—stop trying to make this video like it’s another one of your TikToks, because it’s not.
“Why does that matter?” you may be asking, Kay…
TikTok doesn’t currently have proper evidence that the impersonator accounts are actually impersonators. If you hadn’t heard of Canthinky before, you wouldn’t know it was an impersonator. And since you deleted all your accounts and videos, there is no longer evidence on the platform that these are reuploads from someone else.
TikTok won’t remove the impersonator accounts because there’s no evidence that they are impersonators —it’s that simple.
But why is that still relevant even after you posted this new video?
To TikTok, your new video does not prove that you are actually Canthinky. To them, you look just as much like an impersonator as the real impersonators.
How?
This video looks like it could’ve just been a regular video of you lipsyncing to a silly song, but with someone adding text over it pretending to be you—trying to take down the “real Canthinky.”
I’m not saying that’s true, but it’s so easy for anyone to fake a video like that. If you weren’t wearing that gothic-ish fashion you’ve only been wearing recently, I might have been sceptical and thought this video could’ve been some random person trying to stir up drama.
If you truly want these impersonators gone, then what you need to do is post a video discussing the topic by actually talking in person. That way, TikTok knows you are GENUINE. If you really care about these impersonating accounts, then present yourself like you care. Talk in detail, too—make it obvious this is serious. TikTok WILL take action that way.
Also, acknowledge the fans who do care about you. Despite all the negativity and hate you’ve gotten, there are still people who want to see you succeed—that might help attract the right people. And while you’re at it, if there is anything that actually happened with you and Sturdy regarding grooming and such, please tell the world. You’d be doing it a favour.
