/monster/ existed shortly before the exodus from /mg/ happened, it was just a smaller board.  /mg/'s BO decided to suddenly make a rule against tulpas when someone made a monster girl tulpa thread on it for the first time, under the excuse that it was "too autistic."  Hence the autism-related message in the sticky here and on current 8/mg/.  More people left for /monster/ when the BO banned Towergirls discussion as a whole because of kobold princess.  And then eventually either the BO nuked the board and went full silly or someone else claimed the board and made it the magnesium shitposting board until I claimed it later after he got tired of that.
