Jesus you people are quick. Let's talk about how it's two paintings in one. Talk about under-painting!

How about we talk about one of the coolest shit that came out of Christianity other than the bible and the crusades: mother fucking cathedrals.
You have this huge ass building with a bunch of detail and care put within and on the outside of the thing because they didn't want to half ass their devotion to god. They made sure the interiors were cool as shit and even had some pretty neato art work in forms of statues paintings and interior design. And while the Mona Lisa just has two decent looking woman in one painting, these fucking things were tall buildings that had towers that pointed up to the heavens.

I feel bad for anyone who hasn't seen them in person. Many artists can not grasp the scale of these places. Not just the art painted on these buildings, but the buildings themselves.

Sorry about the captcha, but we literally got spammed first day, I don't have time to constantly clear that shit.

Motherfuckers built them by hand, something we can barely touch now with the modern tools we have. Goes to show an artist's hands and nitpicking will always win over production.

Exactly, these buildings were results of devotion to god and weather or not you believe in such a thing, you gotta admit it's still a pretty awesome thing that existed.

I can not see your pic. For some reason it has vanished, much like many pics on endchan recently.

Unfortunately, /his/, /art/ and other exploratory learning is not fashionable with the new adhd crowd.

I just don't like history because it's the past. It's neat to hear about it, but it's definitely not something I'm going to actively seek out. I only care about the present and (more so) the future. I don't really like art either, since I'm just more of a STEM person. More interested in programming than drawing.

Not sure if me being diagnosed ADHD has anything to do with this. I'm sure it has to do with me replying to your post twice because I didn't read the second half the first time.

> not interested in the past
> not caring about some of the cool shit they had
> not realising how the past is an indicator of things to come
> thinking that all that matter is the present and the future

> professionals say that modern art is shit because
> nobody dedicates themselves to it.

> it fucking shows in the difference between
> medieval art/buildings and today's buildings/art
Maybe the harder something is, the more dedication one puts to it, and therefore the better it is?

And then we discussed information theory!
By the time a signal get's to you, the event is in the past. The more complex the event, the longer the signal takes. Accounting for the complexity of global society, if you want to understand the present, you need to study the past.
That being said, fauvism is way cooler than whatever the fuck the mona lisa is on about.
