> However, Danish analyst Brian Holm, a former rider himself, thinks it is a good thing that Van Aert is not participating in the Tour this year. He is convinced that his absence plays to Vingegaard's advantage.

> Jonas is more prepared than last year. Moreover, Van Aert stayed home, and that is an advantage for Vingegaard. There is now only one captain in the team, and that is him. Jonas is getting all the attention,” he says in the Danish newspaper BT.
Wout bros?

> Dude, just look at what you’ve seen in recent years, look back at Armstrong etc., and we have enough proof! I get it, I tried for a very long time to believe that Pog is clean, but if you put everything in perspective at some point and think about it carefully, the chance that this is clean is very small. And all of this is purely out of love for the sport, because cycling will go down hard if we all start riding blindly again; cycling really isn't going to get away with it again!

What did they mean by this.

Also would perhaps prefer the seether not have a high GC position because this would be a perfect stage for him.
And perhaps his seethe will be the reason Vacek or Gregoire or Baudin will be let go.

Its seems to not have settled in yet bc Pogi is a nice guy, but gifting a stage in The Tour when you are behind in GC is very disrespectful. Like protruding nipples in Congress type disrespectful.
I predict Pogi will quit cycling within a few years because of growing hate.

 >>/100622/
He knows he actually has like a 20 minute margin over the tour, before he even starts to approach his limit, thats what this says, how he acts. Its also why he became bored last year. Because he realised this half way through the Tour in 2025.

 >>/100617/
This was a masterwork psyop by Pogi.

Gives away a stage win, losing no time in the process. Basically teabags the entire peloton while also looking magnanimous. And his domestiques will continue to work their asses for him.

I thought /cyc/ was a more mature community relatively free of schizos. But I'm a pretty casual cycling fan, so I only check in a couple of times a year. Maybe it got worse recently?

But yes, A lot of us left 4chan. Many boards have lost some 20-30% of their daily traffic over the past year. One of my communities was here on endchan for a bit, but we ended up on imageboards of our own eventually.

 >>/100704/
It makes no sense. In-shape Wout is a top-5 hjaelper and he's shown himself many times to be super loyal when the situation calls for it. This really is just Holm wanting cycling to be like in the 50s with 9 unconditional hjaelpers who'd push the captain around if necessary to their absolute detriment of their own chances at all times.

 >>/100708/
Yeah but why would he try so hard the first two days? It's possible he goes in the break and gets the jersey without winning. 100% visma is getting rid of it, he just needs the break to be top10 free, like without carapaz

idk there are some pretty nice bikes from back in the day. I much prefer the many logos paint scheme compared to the often boring monochrome or gradients we get now. The kits I remember fondly but that has a certainly has a nostalgia compenent.

Also looking at those pictures and I can't figure out why pro teams have mostly moved away from white bar tape. At least that's something from that era I can keep alive myself.

idk if this is a hot take, but aesthetically I actually much prefer exposed cables. They give the bike kind of stripped down skeletal look. I had these segmented aluminum Jagwire housings in silver and gold, looked so good.

 >>/100724/

Agree completely, never had a supersix but loved my caad10.

I get so jealous seeing a boomer still riding some top tier rim brake bike from that era.

well of course you're definitely in the minority with the exposed cable bit and liking old stuff in general. Personally I don't mind brake lines being exposed on rim brakes I think it looks good, two brake lines and two shift cable lines is too much though.
One of the oldfags I ride with has exactly this bike and it looks really good, much better than my dogma f. On mine you only have the front brake and it's line exposed on the cockpit and it's an eye sore for everyone who's used to full integration. I've had my bike stand next to someone with the disc brake one and it looks degenerate

 >>/100308/
Turning points jersey into a pure sprinter's jersey is indeed a disgrace. They should've been serious about it and created a new jersey for the pure sprinters (new sponsor!), and then made the points jersey LESS for sprinters.

never listened to radio tour before, I guess for those you don't understand French it's not that interesting. or do you have to wait until the English bulletin is on radio from time to time?

THEY are seriously running full defense for god damn HESSMANN here, literally > he a good boy didn't do nothing! tier. This is pathetic because they ALWAYS accuse everyone of dopage and mention formerly banned dopeurs whenever possible but when it's a D-tier German runner they are doing their best to reintegrate him into society? Pathetic

reminder that you have live data available at the race center / live data ( wanted to post a link but this apparently i can't )
You can add some runner as your "favorites" and see only them.
That way you can see where X or Y is whenever you'd like

Also the french version calls late groups as "attardé"
Which quite literally means retarded in french so its pretty funny to see lenny being in "retarded group 3"

Jonas sending workmen to cancel stages?

> It is warm in Northern Spain and Southern France, not Van der Poel’s favorite type of weather. “It will be a fierce battle to get into the breakaway regardless. There is still a yellow jersey up for grabs for a lot of riders. That is going to be noticeable. Will I try it myself? We’ll see. I don’t think it will be of much use. But if I have the legs to be in there, then maybe I can help Ramses Debruyne or Emiel Verstrynge a bit.”

What a fucking FRAUD.

 >>/100880/
has nothing to do with the skill of the mechanic and everything with the tires that have 0 durability and the speed of riding. When you hit everything you can possibly hit at 45-80 km/h even a smooth edge becomes a killer for thin race tires

 >>/100933/
Good, my bet against him was that his powers (de dopage) are on stages where there will be stronger riders than him and the breakaway is unlikely to be let go, on those where it will be let go the stages will be more mountainous, do not suit him as much and he will not be allowed to chase Cararat.

I have been watching this sport for 80 years and I still don't understand the tactics apparently.
What for are the all smart and clever Director Sportiffs of the lesser teams (read Bora and Lidl) sending hjaelpeurs (read Hinlel and Vacek) to the front to do some pulling and NOT leaving it exclusively to Merda or Merda?

I've seen enough, between Pogi being too explosive and the second heat dome hitting Central Europe, it's never been this over for him. He'll get euthanised in the passes, this time for real, right?

Bert please recommend me a travel itinerary to visit and enjoy the areas around the bay of biscay
I would like to see places such as the other Durango, Bilbao, san sebastian, the pyrennes, bordeaux, nantes basically from galicia to brittany
possible in one trip or better to do separate journeys for franzia and españa ?

A couple of years ago when I last took a train ride here in the Slavlands an elderly Asian couple asked me if riding on retro trains was a regular occurrence. They seemed really enthusiastic.
I didn't have the heart to tell them this is how all our trains look like.
Such is life east of the iron curtain

Had a quick chat on d*ily call with one of the two native bongs in the team, who is ginger has an Irish name and is a he/him btw, and this asshole said that he thinks they are easily going to the final now.

so there's an article in the new york times about the best burgers in New York City and one of them is this fanatical crime - the Bratwurst burger:
> Sure, the chef Thomas Ferlesch can make a classic cheeseburger. He has one on the menu at Werkstatt with Gouda cheese and bacon onion jam. Still, each time Mr. Ferlesch went home to Austria, he wondered if he could make a burger taste like Käsekrainer, the cheese-stuffed sausages found across Vienna. (He could.) Onto a pretzel bun, he piles mustard, pickles and a handsome pork patty sculpted from bratwurst that answers once and for all: Yes, the hot dog is a sandwich.
