> No, Frits Biesterbos was not sick or injured when he left the Tour de France after twelve stages, in consultation with his team Picnic PostNL. The Dutch team withdrew the 24-year-old talent from the race ‘with a view to his development’.

lol you already have no riders and then you start taking them out for no reason

> Ramses developed a sore throat and a fever overnight. The fever makes it impossible for him to continue the race.
> Our youngster leaves the Tour after an impressive debut, with some strong stage performances and a place inside the top 20 of the general classification until today.

Was supposed to do some suprathreshold on the TT bike but no chance, I am utterly spent from this family "holiday" and lack of sleep that some sweetspot was all I could manage. Legs feel quite good up to lt1 but then when it starts to get harder I just can't bring myself there mentally to really send it. Still two weeks to go until the toddler goes back to kindergarten and I can resume working...

Until the start some bike related comment. Because of rail construction, I rode from Basel across the border to Saint Louis and took the train there to Mulhouse. The road quality immediately turned shit when I crossed the border. How come you don't have perfect roads?

Well I made it to the loser public viewing at Col Amic. I blame squeakers keeping the roads closed, even the bike paths running next to the tour roads and not me being too slow. So I had to zig zag my way to the Vogesen. The road up Hartmannsweilerkopf was harder than I expected.
Although it says 5G throughput is dogshit, so I will post pics back in the trein.

After the race it started to rain, so a nice descend for me on rim brakes. Yeah it works and no squeaking, but it's still sketchy. On the outskirts of Mulhouse I did get a flat tire. Not the quickest tube change, but I had enough time reserve for the train. And the tire didn't act up. And surprisingly for rule ferishists, SNCF didn't care about all the Suisse with their bikes storming their train.
Unlike the Giro, you can't ride up 2 hours before, you're supposed to get to the rampas in the morning. So in the end it was a nice ride, I managed to rack in 70k.

I again went mountainbiking today albeit this time alone, I have to say there is something to the steep seattube angle and climbing. 75.5° on that bike, feels like you can push down naturally as it gets very steep. On the road bike I never felt like I would want to sit very far forward while climbing steep gradients but now that I've experienced it I have to say I would like that on all my bikes.
Ride was nice I was exploring the first half, uncharted territory with ruins and old military buildings and such. Quite literally uncharted, none of that was on any map

> C'est quand même COMPLÈTEMENT FOU de se dire qu'il y a 11 mois Paul Seixas 🇨🇵 se faisait battre par Jarno Widar 🇧🇪 sur le Tour de l'Avenir et aujourd'hui il tient tête à Jonas Vingegaard 🇩🇰 au Tour de France... 🤯✨
yes man that really is crazy, from losing to Widar (weaker than average wt climber) twice to becoming as good as the 2nd best climber ever, crazy crazy

> Piotr Ugrumov (Peteris to the ArMonex riders) serves as Sports Director (especially for the Under-19 category) of the A.R. Monex Pro Cycling Team. His experience in elite European cycling has been fundamental to the development of the "Monex Method," which enabled Isaac del Toro's historic breakthrough.

Thinking I should buy a tiny paint can to mark hard-to-spot potholes - you know the sort, where the asphalt has just sort of sunken down so there's no visible edge. Or ones on downhills where you have little time to react. There are at least a handful on my usual roads. I probably won't though, seems like effort.

Pogi sub 30:00 today

supposedly talk in the bora camp is that if lipo doesn't make up lots of time on remco today he'll have to slave for him in week 3
doesn't make sense to me with stages 18/19/20 but wouldn't be surprised as well

 >>/106078/
yeah wouldn't be surprised if remco ends up on second place after the ITT if he doesn't lose too much time today, especially seeing how bad vingos last time trial in the giro was
still don't see remco surviving the hard mountain stages

Randomly remembering a guy from my company mentioning how he was in Hungary some time ago, and since they do s = sz/sh, sz = s he had to take a moment to take in how they pronounce Jesus as Yezush.

 >>/106097/
Hehehe apparently it was the French doping agency that did controle de dopage in the middle of the night for Pog and Jonas. In the coming years there will be so much rigging for Seixas even Argentinians would be ashamed

Since apparently I'm the only one watching Eurosport, Hannah asked Slippy about all their crevaisons and he answered kind of sheepishly that they were looking into it but didn't really know what was going on.

How come the safer plebs went after gear ratios, wheel depth and handlebar width but they don't demand more resilient tires. As much grip and puncture resistance as possible, it would also make racing slower unlike that other crap

> Seriously, tears in my eyes! How incredibly shitty to see a two-time TDF winner leave like that, and to see something they work towards for a year slip away in just a few seconds! Chin up, Jonas, you'll come out of this stronger! How incredibly brutal sport, and cycling in particular, can be! At least he went down fighting!

REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO REMCO

so this is definitive proof that any and all of remcos struggles are 100% mental
> vingo out
> podium almost secure now
> 85% of pressure gone
> immediately able to keep up with pog even able to play games and sprint

 >>/106493/
He never even tried. Just casucally sat down and kept the wheel while Remco was going full sprint. Also, Remco is not a rival. No one is, realistically. Pogacar can do what he wants.
 >>/106489/
saves you from posting like a total psycho because of some unimportant shit someone said

Theory: Jonas got caught red handed by doping control last night doing a worm hemoglobin enema. They told him to crash out and make it look like an accident to get him out of the race and save face.

Well, I can see Pog trying, he is also clearly sitting up.
Was it because he was giving the stage for any of aforementioned reasons or was it because he couldn't keep the power through while standing in pedals will remain to be seen.

For me? Couldn't do SHIT.
