hit a pothole, then the front derailleur refused to shift to the big ring + everytime my right pedal hit 12 o'clock there was a loud metallic noise, which ended up being the pedal scraping past the front derailleur (it took 20km to figure this out, thought it was the BB)

tried fiddling with the screws to adjust the position which semihelped as it fixed the scraping but FD still refused to shift up, tried adding a link to see if it would go but that didn't fix it either

brought the bike to my LBS, who pretty much said i needed a new FD since i nuked it by scraping past it so many times - good thing i've got other bikes for now

well there just is no mainstream explanation or if people explain they say talent aka genetics and that's truly it either way but nobody knows which part of genetics that is which is what you're asking. Is it naturally way higher vo2max, way less lactic acid production or just stronger response to dope or something completely different. Nobody knows and there's no point in asking that question anymore so nobody in the media does either.

Is also interesting. Maybe pog himself and UAE dont know either. Which could mean we dont understand a very fundamental thing about our sport. Like for instance with Messi is hard to quantify, but not impossible, how his leg-movement-spacial awareness is top notch, better than most and equal to only very few if you only go by number of succesful passes for example. That is some sort of explanation. For me some SST on the TT bike, 15+20+15+20min with short recoveries. Legs are starting to feel quite good in the TT position finally. Cool stuff bert. Looks like Milan has a one piece cockpit again where early on in the season he was riding with a two piece traditional setup.
I did a nice TT ride this morning, 6x13-14min for a total of around 80min of sweetspot at 340-350W. Legs have never felt this good on the TT bike so that's a plus, but I'm kind of disappointed in my speed, so I guess my position isn't as good as I hoped for. Need to get my head lower at least, feel like it's really sticking out ATM. 350W for around 45km/h on flat windless roads is quite bad power/aero on a TT bike.

Well I dunno really, I guess I am just looking at different watts/cda calculators online as well as some recent TT races here in Finland and what the winners/podium finishers had for speed and power (if visible on Strava). Like the most aero Finnish TT/track specialist, Severi Savukoski, has a functional CdA of under 0.20, he's crazy slippery, did a 10km TT in just over 12min with 365W power. In comparison, Matias Ahtosalo won the TT nationals with 410W for 36min, and his CdA can be calculated to be around 0.23. I don't quite have that 410-420W engine of top TT specialists, but I think around 380W for 40min is definitely doable for me. So to win the nationals with that power, I would need to get my CdA closer to 0.20. Right now it's probably around 0.23 when I'm really locked in (of course it will get worse when I fatigue etc). So needs a lot more practice, some velodrome testing of different positions and so on. Maybe if I get into the weeds of it I will fly to Britain and do some wind tunnel testing with Wattshop, it's a paypig discipline after all.

The age group time trial / triathlon scene is something else when it comes to paypiggery, of course you pay 10-20k for the best possible bike/cockpit/wheel setup but then there's the excessive testing with all other equipment, like buying 10 different 500€ helmets to be able to test which one is the absolute fastest for your position. Then my favourite is also custom made to measure skinsuits for a few thousand euros, the difference in speed versus a standard one is probably equivalent to 10-20W of power at the speed the top guys are going

Many people tend to like rye soup, with egsh - żurek, the not fancy but classic dinner combos of silesian dumplings-red cabbage-roulade or potatoes-mizeria(cucumber-cream-kefir salad)-minced meat patty/frikadelle.
Of course our take on the old schnitz, called kotlet schabowy.
These are safe to try for anyone, there are classics like bigos, golonka or cabbage rolls but not everyone will like them.

Forgot you're a grasseater, I think at least vegetarian spots are quite common, not like on every street but in every bigger town you'd find a good one.
A non-meat but non-vegan summer classic I love is potatoes-lettuce with cream and chives, eggs.
Now thinking for 30 seconds about, it is not going to be easy to get something vegan. Pierogi with cabbage and shrooms would be one thing, soups the other.

I had Zapiekanka (A zapiekanka is a toasted open-face sandwich made of a sliced baguette or other long roll of bread, topped with sautéed white mushrooms, cheese and sometimes other ingredients, such as ham. Tudor must have the worst staff in the entire peloton. No team underperforms like them. They actually have a bunch of decent/good riders but they don't do shit there. Yeah, their top 2-3 most expensive riders are beyond washed (or hiding their power levels in her/she's case), but their squad depth is almost comparable to mid-tier WT teams and way beyond many shitter teams currently ahead of them in the 3-year ranking.

At least in Czechia the problem was (this was in 2023 during our honeymoon, might have changed) that every restaurant had at least one non-meat option but then it was always some form of cheese. Bigger cities are usually not a problem, but smaller towns, might be hard to find anything vegan.
