But what? How do you prevent a rogue driver from entering the course after passerby's told him it's fine to do so?
Block off every crossing?
Your country knows good and well it's almost impossible to organize a race anymore.
You should see the horde of volunteers doing it for the Flemish classics and all those guys get is a sandwich.

 >>/121736/
sure but if you read the interview he spouts some nonsense
> "In my personal opinion, there should be an independent organization that holds the organizations, the UCI and everything accountable to some very strict rules that makes sure the safety of the riders is held as a priority."
this already exists and it's his boss' pet project

I do agree with his point about the vuelta heat though, delaying the race to the even hotter part of the day for TV is stupid and they should just accept that the stage will run from 10 to 15 or something

> One of the things Navarro strongly advises against is doing the aforementioned training session at altitude. “When I’m at altitude, I avoid indoor trainer workouts. Instead, I take a bath at 42 to 43 degrees,” Tim explains. “The plan is to sit in the bath for forty minutes, though I’ve never actually managed that—even though I do try to get as close to that duration as possible.”

If you've done good old on-bike heat training you know how horrible that is. The more used approach these days of sitting in a hot tub or sauna for 40-60min doesn't feel as bad in comparison. Sucks to be so long in a relatively cold sauna instead of making it much hotter, casting water on the oven and swimming in cold water after 10min like we're used to, though.

Damn I just saw an interview with ben toilet about the vuelta and his garmin temps

> 4h 15 at 36 degrees
> Next day 5h at 39 degrees, 45 peak
> Next day 5h at 38 degrees, 45 peak
> Shortened stage, 41 average, 46 peak

Fucking crazy

> It is an open secret that, two years ago—amidst all the talk of a merger between Quick Step and Visma—Mauri lashed out at Remco on the team bus before the Tour of Lombardy, telling him, "You’re destroying the Wolfpack."
> The two rivals reportedly came face-to-face during the Tokyo Olympics, though that story was always denied.
> "They had to pull Mauri and Remco apart during the Tokyo Olympics, or else blows would have been struck. Evenepoel was getting so big-headed," journalist Hans Vandeweghe wrote at the time.

top kek, seething manlet vs the parkinson kid, people would pay money for that

man I got SPOOKED big time by a military helicopter. There I am z1'ing along on the gravel on my way to purchase 🍎, I hear some faint buzz and all of a sudden POW this monster pops out of the woods just above the trees and basically right on top of me. Damn near pissed myself, felt like it was a mere 5 meters above me.
I see these helicopters and transport planes quite frequently and they often fly low but never this close

yeah, do the ITT on the same day as the worlds ITT, because why not. and now it's time to pay attention to what happened today.

> “I have no idea. It wasn’t the plan before the start,” Van der Poel said in the flash interview when asked what had prompted his early attack.

> “I just found myself alone right at the beginning of the race, and I simply rode at my own tempo all day.”

hello UCI? I saw someone bombing down the road doing the supertuck. I never thought that I would witness something so illegal.
and riding up a hill is a good way to escape the boomers and kids clogging up the cycling paths with 15km/h. I really don't like riding on Sundays, but the weather was too nice.

> That is essentially the whole issue: that massive aerodynamic advantage over much taller (and heavier) riders. Put Evenepoel and his rivals on a standard bike, and it’s an open question whether he would even win.

Wielerflitsers are right, put him on a normal bike and tie a parachute to him already

Will they haul 6l of milk, salmon, cucumber for me, and buy that shitty ice coffee I don't need or even like that much but have it every time along the way?
Will they give me some cute shop clerks to check me out and pitch their voice higher when it is my turn in checkout?
I think NOT.

> #Montreal2026 🌈 / 🇫🇷 Bruno Armirail finished very far during the time, 26th at 2'45 Belgian. He's trying to find the reason...

> 💬 "At the level of the aero, there may be a problem, it is true that there we have the combinations of the Federation, not of our team, but good Paul (Seixas, 3rd) made a very good result so... I'll talk about it with him, his values, how he did it. It is also known that some combinations are faster for runners than for others. I'll analyze all of this."

> "In relation to the sensations and powers that I can develop, I was very good. I do 436 watts average over 47 minutes, I think that's almost my record. I was on a very good day so I don't know how to explain it. I thought I was in the top three or five times at the first intermediate and there I see 26th, I wondered if there was a time error. I don't understand. I leave all my data on Strava so some will be able to analyze.”

It's that time of the year to look at the selection of warmer ciclismo shoes for spring/autumn and be disappointed at the almost non-existent options.
Also should really buy some non-merino base layer, merino is not serving me well (in contrast to hiking)

 >>/122298/
Thin windstopper overshoes should do the trick, not the ones that are 3mm+ of neoprene but rather the ones that are akin to a skin suit. They are also waterproof, I have some from CHYNA of course but I bet you'll find some from yurop if you wish.
There are some that go up all the way to your calves like aero socks and there are others that just go over your shoes, depends on your preference

> “I produced my best power numbers over a 45-minute effort,” he explained to Sporza afterwards. “This was my best performance over that duration, and my form was good. There’s nothing more to say about it. I took risks, but things apparently went even more smoothly for Remco. I can’t say anything negative about my own performance. I’ve worked hard since the Tour, and we’ve fine-tuned my position. So, I have no grounds for complaint.”

> Ganna himself can only speculate as to why the gap is so large, given that he was able to beat Evenepoel five or six years ago. “I did everything right. My power numbers were higher than we’d expected. My finishing time was faster than anticipated, too. Perhaps the difference lies in the equipment or the position on the bike. Or maybe I simply wasn’t as fast and aerodynamic as Remco.”

Looks like I'm not fired after all.
A wild customer appeared and needs 1 guy with some of my skillset but especially my coveted soft skills.
Do I hand over my autist papers in now if people want me to do the talking.

but the rumored one you posted is probably the most eco unfriendly one around, they start in the north, go to the alps, then spain and then back to paris

I would cut out the back to paris with my norf proposal, GC is already decided anyway in week 2 let's be real

yes because the last couple times I saw him his arms looked more like this, further forward but more at an angle which afaik is worse for aerodynamics. But his position yesterday was different, it seems to me like they moved his extensions back and up so his arms are flatter now. Probably better aerodynamically but less comfortable.

 >>/122455/
Afaik going really far forward with your arms like some triathletes do is not good for aero, that aside it's hard to say because we don't know how he feels on the bike. However I assume having his arms a bit further forward to at least what remco has would be more comfortable. That's from my experience of riding aero hoods on the road bike, having the arms straight down like ganna and armirail annihilated my triceps but even just getting 3 cm more reach was a massive improvement.
But I don't even know how that translates to aerobars, could be entirely different. I only ever rode a tt bike once for less than 10 km and that had a lot of stack so not comparable to a real tt position

I will have to do it, won't be able to be an itfag without open source models running on premise because the frontier models are plateauing, the reckoning of the bubble is coming and the subscription prices will spike.
Don't know if I will be dishing that much for 5090, hope 6090 will drop soon enough or I will just combo 4090s or even 3090s.

I am tired boss, fourth night in a row with the baby waking up every 1-2h and the wife is already so exhausted I am doing most of the feeding/tucking in. Thank god the situation at work is easy atm, I don't think my brain is really functioning properly

Speaking of gr*v*l, I still don't know what to make of the new Canyon Grail
The affordable one (4k) is 9.6kg heavy despite not having front derailleur.
The 6k CFR one is 8.4kg, that's a BIG difference. They come with 40t front and 10-51t rear.
I don't know, I feel like the market has moved on from Bertaceks to different sort of freds.
The colour livery is also pretty lame, the previous model looked great.

 >>/122502/
it's kinda piss that's true and they are 1x only you can't put a fd on there, disqualifies it for dual road&gravel use for me. I don't get those baby chainrings on gravel either, obviously for 1x you have to put those on if you need easy gears but its shit idk.
but those weight numbers are hefty at those prices, lemme guess they put on heavy ass carbon wheels that cost 3-4x more than they should (dt swiss, zipp). Still can't just blame it on wheels alone, maybe 1x groups are heavier than expected kek

today I saw a deer get tarling'd, well I didn't see it happen but rather the aftermath and it looked exactly how I expect that to look. Deer was lying on the hood of a car with its neck twisted backwards, basically touching its back

Pretty happy, esp as heart rate was quite well controlled (166 average for the effort, my threshold HR is like 177-180).

Finally been more consistent over the last month after doing almost nothing since baby was born last October. Gains are coming back quickly. Turns out years of building the engine doesn't get erased with a few months...

New paypiggery just dropped, bought a used Wattshop Anemoi basebar to save a further 10W on my TTs. Looks pretty sexy compared to the earlier Tririg bar I had, though the custom 3d printed extension/bar systems seen at the worlds are still way cooler

lutsenko humbling asians one last time before retiring at the end of the year. too bad for him he was washed the last 2 seasons at iNSNrael after being a slave at Astana for so long.

> Ciccone, cambio di squadra in vista: lo aspetta la Pinarello-Q36.5 con un triennale
yes, but I would like to know what teams are doing to get rid of some of their jobbers to make space for expensive jobbers instead. according to cyclingflash safety jogger is still at 31 riders for next season.
