for those not taking the WC seriously, Tour de Langkawi is starting in a couple of hours with Kristoff and one of the many Paris - Finish Location races is being held as well with de lie and sander de pestel participating.

The course is fine. Security doesn't seem to a problem either. Race is boring though.
All in all I would say Rwanda did a pretty good job and it wasn't the disaster we thought it would be 8 months ago.

In other news: Have been at a house viewing this morning and might actually pull the trigger on it. Sits at the top of a 1km 15% rampa, coming home from rides will be grim for a weightmaxxer like myself.

> On the big loop towards Mount Kigali, the road surface was poor. He rode through a pothole there, causing his saddle to tilt. That's obviously highly undesirable at the most crucial point of the World Championship, especially without communication
> Ten kilometers later, the same scene unfolded again during the climb of the Côte de Kimihurura. Evenepoel knocked his saddle in frustration and raised his hand. It was all taking a bit too long, according to Evenepoel. A vigorous shout at the camera and a kick in the air revealed his frustration, although it turned out the second bike change wasn't necessary. Evenepoel thought his saddle had dropped again, but according to mechanic Dario Kloeck, there was nothing wrong with his second bike: "We checked it three times, but there was nothing wrong."

Topest kek this is just a quintessential remco story. Literally just seethe his way out of the race

 >>/47091/
I was pondering switching that fucking Pidcock to Remco but I have overvalued how bad Remco is going to be on the gobbls and how good he is on distance.
Didn't want to pick some 4 pointer like that fucking Seixas, could you imagine falling for the Seixas psyop lmao!

> "I think there was more in it," Remco Evenepoel opened his reaction. "Both of my bike changes happened at the worst possible moments. I hit a hole just before Mount Kigali, which caused my saddle to sag. Because of that different position, my hamstrings really cramped up. After four hours of racing, you really feel that. So I really had to change bikes."

> "Afterwards, I felt that my backup bike wasn't quite the same. I started having problems with my lower back, and because of my injuries, I really had to change again. I couldn't stay on that bike for five kilometers."

> "I had to turn back twice, and that was too much. Without that misfortune, I would have been able to follow Pogacar. I felt good, but there really was no other option than to change."

> "I came for the double and I was close in the end. But that pursuit was over. I got closer, but not by much. I have to turn things around now. We rode a good race and got a lot out of it. Now it's time for some decompression with Oumi and the team, and starting tomorrow I'll turn things around for the European Championships."

Just bad luck again, he was clearly the best today

I saw that but his powermeter is fucked so the values are probably all wrong
or maybe there was just some fuckery on the mont because not only is the power wack but his gps is all over the place there and actually in a bunch of other places as well.
If the power is true I don't know what to think, the climbs really weren't that hard judging from this and there was a lot of time to recover on every lap. Sure it's 6.5 hours of that shit but idk I just expected more from a race that decimated the peloton like that

I really wonder what the fuck happened on that false flat before the mont because it 'cuts out' there and the gps also has healy teleport twice on the climb around corners, maybe the headunit messed up and blacked out. The power comes back on the descent where its mostly freewheeling except for the bumps upwards which are accelerations after corners which is normal and makes sense.

nice

I'm baffled by people who think he's over the hill; he might be getting bored/annoyed, but we just saw him present a .UWT race he had won twice already to a domestique — that's not someone who is any weaker than in 2024

Dopage hitpiece about Gianetti in the newspaper today. During his active time, he was on Perfluorcarbon. He didn't give an interview, so they wrote that he doesn't speak to the press, but he gives interviews in the Suisse-Italian tv from time to time.

Also some guy told me that in Soviet times it was dangerous to have a last name because your family will get arrested or something. So that is why their first and last names seem so random with -baatar and -bayar showing up in both. They just made something up and nobody remembers what their family name used to be in the before times. Maybe they didn't even have one. It was an interesting story

That Dinham fellow is back in the peleton, his story is on wielerflits but it's a bit much to copy paste it all.
Crazy shit, 7 MRI's of his foot till they found the cause of his misery

Bought a fresh pair of chamois boxers after a pretty decent performance of some chinesium brand, Inbike.
These were ok, did their diaper job but were too small and slightly too thick, especially when they rolled up me groin during a ride.
The new ones are now proper Gore brand. Not even funny how much better they feel just putting them on. Way lighter, thinner, almost not there.
We shall see how the verdict goes after a proper ride.

My Rouvy trial ends on the 2nd and I don't think I will be subscribing
Some of the routes are pretty, I rode the stelvio for example and it looks nice (although painful to not be there in person) but I don't think it's good for training since it is not looped, it's just one video and when you reach the end, it ends.
There are also not that many high quality AR (where you can your avatar) routes in general.
Didn't even try ""racing"", but the """community""" is just not there.

She's probably worried that some people find it hypocrital to be outspoken against Israel's war against Palestine but then go to a country like Rwanda that has its own controversies.
What she forgot was that nobody knows or cares about Rwanda.

He's riding for the development team so he can choose between babby and elite category as he wishes.
The real question is how he can be allowed to race almost exclusively for the actual Lidl-Trek when he's on contract for the dev squad.

you would think that kristoff would be better at positioning himself for a sprint, but man uno-x is so shit at proper lead out, they just learned to farm UCI points by having as many riders as possible in the top to get UCI points.

> APHotels & Resorts / Tavira / SC Farense has been suspended for three weeks by the UCI Disciplinary Committee. The Portuguese continental team is facing penalties for two doping cases within a twelve-month period.

TOP KEK

 >>/47352/
A 3 week suspension for an entire team? I don't remember seeing anything like that before.
Apparentely it's for fuckery in the biological passports of Delio Fernández this year and Venceslau Fernandes last year.

> A message from the organisation:
> Due to strong winds on the bridge at km 64.5, the decision has been made in the interest of riders and vehicle drivers safety to reduce the length stage - it now will be 51.0 km long and we will finish at the top of the Cat 3 climb at 51.0 km.

> Therefore we will have later start at 14:45 from Biograd na Moru as planned.

you are seething because I'm throwing shade at your indeed not all too big purchase

They need to bring back some invites at the discretion of the organizers. ASO was also complaining about that last year, basically arguing they can't bully jobbers teams into animating flat stages anymore and it's a problem.

 >>/47578/
Not that shocked about the bench, we keep forgetting how completely untrained people will be unstable and weak.
I see teens in my gym starting from 25kg and adding 2.5 kilos with some struggle.
That being said, these are sportspeople, endurance leg and posterior chain sportspeople, I still don't think not being able to hit 60 is that bad, rather expected.
Expected grug to hang below a 100, Remco on the other hand.. womp womp.

The project is so concrete that there are French cities already wanting to host the CX race. Haute-Saone promissed that tibo pino would unretire if the race would be held on the planches des belles filles

the power zones do shift a lot, my climbing times for flemish hills have improved a lot over the last few months but when I tested my 1 hour power a week or two ago it was disappointingly not that much better than peak vine cave shape

> "We understood that it was best to separate our paths," summarized the 30-year-old runner, who had signed a two-year contract with Efapel.
> The hamstring injury in both legs hampered the Uruguayan's season, as he completed only the Opening Race and the Abimota Grand Prix, totaling only 10 full days of competition, and missed the Tour of Portugal. "In the coming weeks, I'll decide my future," he said, revealing that he is in negotiations to sign with another team for next season.

 >>/47650/
I'm betting you could do at least around 280-290W with an even split for around 40min if you can do 330W for 10min. That effort looks fairly easy for you if you can hammer the last minutes so hard comparatively.

> "Cian's and the team's ambitions began to diverge," Visma CEO Richard Plugge said on the Movistar website. "At this time, we cannot offer Cian the role and program he considers essential for his development."

> After very open and honest discussions, we have accepted his request to take a new step in his career. We wish Cian every success."

Second broken contract already

> So, what direction does the 22-year-old Belgian want to take? "I'm currently at a stage in my career where I want to further develop as a GC rider in Grand Tours; that's become very important. I'm convinced that Movistar, and someone like Enric Mas in particular, can help me grow in that area and achieve results," says Uijtdebroeks himself. "I believe this environment can help me develop into a key figure in the peloton."

LOL reminds me if cavagna going to movistar to become a better TT'er
Dead career

Kek, reminds me of professor applications when you're saying "I can't wait to use the expertise of professor bla to help me with the project" when in fact you know full well you're never going to talk to the dude

> Mads Pedersen will not be competing again this season. The 29-year-old Danish world-class rider for Lidl-Trek was scheduled to compete in the unique European Time Trial Championship, Münsterland Giro, and European Road Championships combined in a five-day period this week. good fucking riddance

> The ProTeam opted not to participate in the Giro dell'Emilia (Saturday).
Weren't they told not to come? Maybe if they call it opted out there is less drama and UCI can once again choose not to get involved publically.

Funnily enough this one in Mynämäki is perhaps the best inhumanas rampa around here, the KOM is 763W for 1:18 by a skinny guy. But still quite a short one, not good for intervals

Hehe, I get what you mean, at least that's not a problem here. This week I was honked and shouted at by a cagie for the first time this year, usually everyone behaves quite well here
