I've did two late adjustments and they've both been a disaster.
> to almeida from whatever was the mix of gall, martinez, ricci,
> to laporte from whatever was the current +16 pointer, morgado, florian, tibor

Last squeak for the day, had a team with Strand, Vermeersch, Aimé and Van Hemelen. Just not touch it, fuck.
Ok thank you for readning my whinepost, sure I have had it all figured out.

> blog aspect of bertcyc helps with the motivation
true
I might give them another try but might need some rest before. also the 300w 1h ftp estimate from my ramp test yesterday is not correct imho, should be more like 280-285

> “We received a report ten kilometers from the finish line that Zingle had been taken out of the race,” says the Belgian former cyclist. “At first we didn’t know what it was about, but later we heard there were images of him hanging onto the car.”

> Reportedly, it was not Wynants, but general manager Richard Plugge who was behind the wheel. “Look, we regret the incident. This does not contribute to the image of cycling. It happened in the background after a flat tire and it did not affect the result, but it should not have happened.”

> “Once again: we regret the incident and accept responsibility. Just because something like this happens often in races does not give us the right to do the same.”

lol not an ounce of regret in that statement

> Evenepoel was also able to offer some nuance regarding the fact that he had to let Vingegaard—his biggest competitor—ride ahead. "His attack was very strong, especially with that crosswind. So it wasn't easy to follow," he said.

> "But once the groups had formed, due to the situation that unfolded, I did have a few kilometers where I wasn't suffering. Perhaps there was more to be gained, but this is still a good result for the team. The gaps to the second and third place finishers aren't huge either."

if his ego keeps inflating he might actually start flying up the mountain

 >>/74154/
I saw a race where Remco got dropped like a stone when Jonas accelerated a bit, then couldn't follow the rest either and also couldn't drop a group of shitters like George Bennett of all places so he was seething and gesturing. And none of this had any effect on Lipowitz. But maybe I saw a different race or something

€49 for PCS PRO is a steal when you compare it to many (glossy) cycling magazines:

30-50% actual content (incl 20-40% branded content or advertorials)
50-70% ads & photos
€50 per year for just 4 issues

With PCS PRO, you get full coverage all year long #NoAdsMoreStats

Veistroffer pre race interview
"I'm not tired neither when i wake up in the morning nor at night"
"There's some pretty strong italian guy who scored some KOM point yesterday it seems"
"Maybe i can defend the jersey if the planets are aligned"

Overall seems like a pretty cool guy.
Also you won't be able to tell but his french is very "countryside-esque" like good ol'

Oh damn, means I won't be picking him in my veloteam for the foreseeable future even when he comes back.
Anyway, finally back in Finland, in the trein home right now. As if the trip couldn't have got worse, my bike is apparently still stuck in Palma de Mallorca. Well I won't be riding outside in any case...
Also, any tips for the Gent-Wevelgem goomble?

also brennan has been sick, I've posted it before

> “He arrives today (Friday). He has fallen behind due to illness, but things are moving in the right direction.”

> “He might not play in In Flanders Fields on Sunday yet, but certainly in the week after,” said Van Dongen.

I give you this info for free

So after the grug 446w for 90 mintues people started complaining about the shimano power meter that were complete rubbish. Apparently any crank based powermeter on shimano is guarenteed to be wrong, and not by a little bit? Sounds crazy I wonder how many berts post inflated power number itt

I do believe the rumours of his death are greatly exaggerated, it was a 70k attack for 75kg guy with bad aero and non-extraterrestre W/kg.
But he will be spent today.
And he better watch out for satan's attack already from Denain, not menitoning RVV as it is already settled.

> "I still haven't received clarity from my team whether I will be allowed to stay in 2026. So, it seemed like a good idea to market myself during the Giro," De Bondt told WielerFlits, explaining that he told fellow Belgian, EF Education-EasyPost coach Ken Vanmarcke, during the race, "If you're looking for riders for 2026, I'm still on the market."
> De Bondt said he alerted several teams to his availability during the race, while Vanmarcke came back to him with a proposition ahead of stage 20. Not for a contract, but for a deal of sorts.
> "Before the team presentation of stage 20, Vanmarcke said to me, 'Are you planning anything today?'" De Bondt said.
> "'It's going to be very difficult for us to send riders into the early breakaway. But look, if you're in there and you can play a role somewhere that's important in the final result, something serious can come from that.' That's what inspired me to do what I did for Carapaz.

 >>/74690/
I've only ever watched a few femmes but they really just concede most of all races to wiebes for no reason. Nobody tries to drop her nobody tries a late attack nobody tries anything, its like they all dont care and just want a paycheck

Are there any other female sprinters? How does she just win every single sprint race?

In the men's field, there never seems to be one overwhelming dominant sprinter since the finishes are so chaotic. But in the women's races, it's like the entire field is doing lead out for Wiebes

Seems to me that in womens road cycling less than a dozen runners actually train a specific angle (sprint, punch, tt etc) that can lead them to win a race, the rest just seems to go with the vibes and do some basic aerobic training á la bert. That's why the races are so lame, hardly anybody does anything because hardly anyone can do anything.
It's not like that in track, mtb or cx. Must be the forced minimum salary here

> A devoted cycling fan and admirer of Marco Pantani, whose earring he wore during the Olympics , Émilien Jacquelin is embarking on a new challenge far removed from his sport, biathlon, in which he won two Olympic medals this winter (bronze in the pursuit and gold in the men's relay). The 30-year-old biathlete announced on Sunday that he will be joining the Decathlon-CMA CGM cycling team as a trainee with the development team to explore his potential on a bike for six months.

> The goal is to broaden my horizons. I want to step outside my comfort zone ,” he explained to L’Équipe . Fifth in the overall World Cup standings this season, he isn’t giving up on his biathlon career and wants to take advantage of this post-Olympic year to try something new “before starting a new cycle . ” “For Émilien, it’s a bit like the stars aligning this year to live out a childhood dream ,” confirmed Sébastien Joly, competition director at Decathlon-CMA CGM.

Bertman sighs with relief after Deus ex gave me a triple chute and gave him a healthy lead again.
I smell blood though, this is no longer "teehee, this is kinda fun!" this is "I am not worse than the ciclismo first worlders" now.
Of course I will suck a bit in the northern classics where first worlders thrive but me instincts are already at least ok.

> Śmigus-dyngus (or lany poniedziałek, Polish for Wet Monday) is the name for Easter Monday in Poland and the diaspora. In the Czech Republic, it is called velikonoční pondělí, in Slovakia veľkonočný pondelok and in Hungary Vízbevető. All these Catholic countries (and some others) practice the unique ancient custom on this day.[8] Traditionally, boys and men pour a bucket of water or perfume on girls and women or spank their buttocks and legs with long thin twigs (pussy willow) or switches made from willow, birch or decorated tree branches.
Why celebrating beating up women as holyday when this happens daily?

Anonymous responses from runners about who has a bad reputation in the peloton:

Gianni Vermeersch mentioned the most by far, but outside of the race he is a cool guy apparently
De Lie, because of his retarded style he takes a lot of space
Alexis Renard always chutes or makes someone chute
Tietema le funny video team they find annoying
Tim Wellens
Matej Mohoric

The parents of these boomers worked themselves to death building up the country, they gave them everything. And they took it. And they kept taking. And they are still taking, from their own children, from anyone. And with an attitude as well. Has there ever been a generation like this before. The world may never recover

> His fellow team manager Maarten Wynants came to the same conclusion in a conversation with Het Nieuwsblad. The former rider saw how a strong Van Aert was able to cross swords with Van der Poel. “We should mainly be satisfied that he was able to follow Van der Poel. In Tirreno-Adriatico, Van der Poel was still impressive, and it still seemed that nothing could be done against him in the spring.” “Now we are able to follow him. That gap on the third time up the Kemmelberg? That was bending, but not breaking,” said Wynants. “But Van der Poel really rode full throttle then, mind you.”
> Wynants also commented on the In Flanders Fields final and the decision by the two top contenders not to let the dropped Florian Vermeersch rejoin after the final ascent of the Kemmelberg. Was this – with hindsight – a mistake? “Letting him rejoin was not the right tactical choice,” Wynants believes. “Because you know that Van der Poel and Vermeersch get along very well.”

I also went to a Mcdo and had the runs.
Is the above ground a toeristscam and do real czechs live underground like hobbits?

> In a month and a half, Almeida will be the undisputed leader of UAE Emirates XRG in the Giro d'Italia, but after a promising start to the season – with podium finishes in the Tour of Valencia and Volta ao Algarve – he is currently going through a difficult phase.

> “I didn't feel that good even before the start of the race. It might be a good idea to have some tests and analyses carried out,” he said to Cycling Pro Net’s camera. “I will have to discuss this with our medical staff.”

> “I don't feel that good on the bike at the moment. Maybe I should take a rest period to figure out what is going on with me,” the 27-year-old Grand Tour rider continued. “To work hard again afterwards.”

> Laurenz Rex has to write off the rest of his spring season. The Soudal-Quick Step rider suffered a serious injury yesterday in a crash at In Flanders Fields. His right knee was dislocated and there was damage to his bones and ligaments, requiring surgery.

He's really not good at that sort of thing. The highly attritional, attacking sort of racing with complex tactics he doesn't seem to do well with. He does well when his team delivers him into position, and the race comes down to a single, sustained, steep climbing effort.

 >>/74906/
I don't know, he followed memco with ease in the crosswinds when the others were dying to get back
that's a borderline lesser race winning move
he just mentally folds the moment its not a stage race, he's clearly fit enough to do something like fleche walloon

 >>/74909/
> Well we can say he's uneven on those stages in the Tour.
Not really. He has easily been the second strongest GC rider on those kinds of stage for the last few years. Just look at Bologna and Le Lioran in '24 and the entire first week last year, for example

I think my fellow burger is at least partially right; when he wins punchier stages, everyone else is also in stage-race mode, where there are multiple motivations across teams, versus 1-days where every team wants to win that particular race

 >>/74910/
Yeah, that was a wowzers, he clearly is more than fot enough to contest whatever a one day race may bring, save for shaky shit on gobbles. It looks more like a conservative personality which doesn't really want to go into uncharted realms, just do your boulot, kiss the sticker and go home.
Can't blame him for having a jobber approach but it is a waste, even of it is a hyperresponder "gift" that is going to waste.

I had a dream my træen got derailed and crashed into a square and there was wreckage and body parts flying everywhere. And I was walking around aimlessly without my phone or my wallet or anything so I couldn't reach anyone and just kept walking. Someone showed me a video of a guy getting crushed by a block of concete that broke off from some building. But I knew it wasn't my fault because I wasn't speeding or anything. And then I got worried that maybe I was. Later I went to the town hall to get a new ID because it was gone and they told me I was wanted or something and I had to go to the police station. The next day I went to work and people were talking about the crash but they didn't know it was me. I had an appointment with some manager and I was scared they wouldn't let me drive anymore

92-93% of 20 minutes sounds about right, 95% of 20 minutes is definitely too much especially if you don't do a 5 minute all out beforehand

ramp test outside of a lab with breathing gas analysis and/or lactate analysis is just guessing innit, if your anaerobic capacity is big it'll overestimate and if it's small it'll underestimate

Using any test and then if necessary adjusting so the pacing for efforts works out is the best course of action either way

Fellow wax chads, are you keeping track of your chains? If so, how are you telling them apart? Currently have 2 chains I switch between, which are different types so easy to keep apart, but I'd like to have a couple more in the rotation and I feel I'd lose track of which is which.

 >>/74955/
I have 3 same chains in rotation. twice a year I will revaxx all of them, and then every two months or so I put a fresh one on and put the other in the dirty-bag and every now and then I check with the chain wear indicator if they are still good
