Time to play this quiz one more time now that the list is complete and the curse is broken

Eh, Sky was hoovering up stage races in that era with Froome, Porte, G and so on. Then they also had to compete with guys like Contador, Quintana, Valverde and Nibali who were always a level or two above. Then guys like Pogacar and Roglic came along in the latter part of their careers.
Pinot was so close in the Dauphine in 2020, but that was only because everyone else DNF'ed.

but now you're hyperboling for no reason
it will help him on the cobbles and that's all that matters
they won't get him back because he's losing a few watts on the in between because he already has those watts extra on everyone that isn't grug

 >>/78224/
Yeah, he's UAE's big card to play. If he doesn't randomly chute or have a mechanical, he's almost certainly capable of being in the group with the last 3 or 4 guys.

It could be rough if Grug is ever in a position where he has to close Vermeersch's attacks.

let's see, the not boring velogame teams, I won't mention the pogi-grug teams:
optakt enjoyers believes in mads
joe has grug, mads and ganna, no poggers
special mention of bertaczek in believeing in degenkolb
san cremo, quinde, bert (zonder foto), dumbest team, stopped watching this sport, schizobrit and gardener bert are woutist
kentone enjoyer, rusbert, burgerbert, oleg and me with ganna as well
kurwabert with mads instead of pogi
opi-oumi with ganna-wout-laporte

> “Today you need both good legs and a bit of luck,” Van der Poel said to Het Nieuwsblad before the start, looking ahead once again. “Hopefully we’ll have that again, like in recent years.”

> Van der Poel will likely have to sprint at the end on the Roubaix velodrome, although he does not want to jump to conclusions. “If you can sprint for the win, you’ve ridden a good race regardless, but we’ll have to see how it goes.”

> As the defending champion, Van der Poel seems to be the undisputed leader for Alpecin-Premier Tech, but there is also a certain Jasper Philipsen. “A scenario where Jasper sprints for the win is certainly a possibility. He was a bit sick, but is better now, and this race suits both of us very well.”

doesn't sound very confident

After this PR what is even a realistic goal for Wout next? Just try to win MSR and PR again? I don't think there is a WC RR parcours suitable for him coming anytime soon. And in the ITT there's no way he can do shit against Memco.

> pogi shimano bike episode
> grug arenberg comical episode
> everyone having flats
> we're left with pogi and wout for the last 50k
it was ok, I still hold Colbrelli winning in the rain and grug and jappe assasinatting Degenkolb higher

 >>/78889/
what was great about that. The main contenders got taken out early by rng which cost one the entire race and the other half of his legs just to catch back on. Then nothing much happened and the only interesting bit was seeing grug closing the gap until that effort failed

 >>/78908/
I don't know anything about old tires but I can confirm that the tires pog and grug use puncture super easily. It's the pursuit of low rolling resistance. I read on bicyclerollingresistance that reduction in casing thickness leads to the gp 5k S TR having 30% less puncture resistance than the previous gp 5k TL, the manufacturers across the board bank on sealant saving the day but obviously that is not happening.
Never happened for me either because it seals but only after the tire is flat or near flat

> "Of course, that all came together at an incredibly bad time. I never would have thought that. Now it comes down to the pedals, but there was a long build-up with other things," he fumed
> "There was a minor crash," he says. "An NSN Cycling rider hit the barrier. The team car stopped and the doctor positioned himself next to him, causing us to be stationary for more than a minute."

> We’ve spotted a prototype version of Shimano’s new clipless road bike pedals on Jasper Phillipsen's Canyon Endurace for Paris-Roubaix 2026.

> At a glance, the overall shape, size and proportions are all very similar to the existing Dura-Ace PD-R9100 pedals. However, a slimmer central section suggests Shimano may be chasing reduced stack height, rather than taking its road bike pedals in a radical new direction.

> The most obvious change is the switch from three stainless steel contact plates to two. These plates are used to reduce wear between the cleat and pedal body.

> The prototype simplifies this layout with a plate on the either side of the pedal.

> “I got my race numbers on the bus this morning,” says Mick. “It’s up to the team to check if they are for Tim or Mick. In any case, they were for a Van Dijke, but not the right one. Mick rode with mine and I with his. I only found out at the finish that I had ridden with the wrong numbers. Then a few people came up to me and told me.”

is this legal?

 >>/78925/
I actually had him in my team. Tim is better tactical, Mick is better just stomping and surviving, which is P-R.
But I panic adjusted him out because he hasn't been that visible early season.
Ah well, I had Wout.

Today's fraudelous kwabbing DNF's:
Philipsen Jasper
Vermeersch Florian
Sénéchal Florian
Molano Juan Sebastián
Affini Edoardo
van Dijke Tim
Wærenskjold Søren
De Lie Arnaud
Girmay Biniam
Mohorič Matej
Haller Marco

> Teammate Tibor Del Grosso saw the "shitshow" unfold from the front row and also tried to help Van der Poel out of trouble.

> "My rear wheel was broken, so I thought: I can still try to put my front wheel on Mathieu's bike," said Del Grosso. "My race was over anyway. It was the only thing I could do."

he did the needful, respect

 >>/78953/
I noticed that. I feel like they are just pressuring the guy a lot into doing the full classics season, just because he won G-W. He doesn't look motivated at all for them.
He won some sprints early season, so it's not like he's going Caleb ewen mode. They should just let him do sprints.

 >>/78961/
If they offer you a good salary to do X, you can think by yourself that you'll manage to motivate yourself for it; and take the money.
But then it turns out you can't do it, get frustrated and end up in a downwards spiral.

Or maybe he's just not disciplined enough or cracks under pressure. Like DE LIE.

 >>/78963/
De Lie is mismanaged as fuck, his team makes no effort anymore to keep him in shape. All I see on strava are noodle rides in Wallonia again like last year.
Looked fat as fuck again today in a race he shouldn't even be in right now.
Lotto is filled with retards.
