Good news is tis but a scratch, the inner tube is pinched but it is not again a sidewall hole which will just let derbis in and I need to buy a new tire again.
No bad news really, besides the walk of shame. Deliberately went through the woods instead of the bikepath but once I needed to go along the bikepath only a pleasant boomer asked if I needed help, the rest just went by.

I would assume he posted from an accomodation back in Italy with Italian flag and is in no hurry driving back. But now I need visit Malta as well someday. The airports in Milan are easy to reach although Ryanair prefers Bergamo airport.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST this free tier models are so dumb. I am used to corporate tier and started to believe outputs because they are just good if you ask good prompts.
Now it is throwing Rondel in instead of Pelizzari and thinking it solved the 106 total cost issue.

Yes it is my car. So I still have to drive 2500 km home or something. It still hurts but I think it's okay. I will visit Herculaneum tomorrow because I read it is better than Pompeii and doesn't have 5 billion visitors every day. Maybe go see the Vesuvius. I want to be home next Saturday

Aha, I thought 2 weeks is a good sweet spot to not drain too much of your total allowance, 3 seems a lot, how much time off can you have in total so you can still have something for the rest of the year.
You don't, simple.
I have booked Christmas and two days in November already, still have 10 to use but my job is too easy to really need time off. Plus I have the bongs' 4 or 5 extra days off as well.

 >>/90651/
I have a b2b contract, which is the biggest con of this job because I had to agree to keep the same salary as I have had for the last 3 years and my days off are unpaid. I have 21 of them, basically one month less of pay per year.
But the job was necessary to upskill me in engineering.
Normal employment has 26 paid days off and they carry over if unused, until the half of the next year.

berts out there having 5 week vacations and outright neeting while the rest of us has 0 vacations and works at least two jobs to make ends meet
we need to introduce wealth tax in /cyc/ - the neets and long vacationers must pay

I didn't watch the match (went to sleep at 9 because of the baby, haha) but what I read in the tabloids and what my friends confirmed was that both teams seemed rather timid and afraid to play compared to the earlier matches.

the giro may actually only be a 0.5/10 grand tour
I recently posted anti giro truth into the local bicycle group chat
> the femmes tdf is a more interesting race than the giro in every regard
and there was plenty of agreement to be found (one guy said yup while everyone else stayed silent [nobody knows what the giro is nor do they watch the femmes tdf]).

So I went to Herculaneum and it was pretty cool. But I couldn't get on the Autostrada because the oldest toll booth in existence didn't accept my credit cart. I had to drive through the fucking center of the towns of the Napoli banlieus and everybody is fucking CRAZY here. Cars driving and stopping everywhere, retards stepping into the road, those fucking scooters overtaking on the left and the right. Literally every car has bumps and scratches. There are probably not a whole lot of cyclists from the south because they are all DEAD. It is 10x worse than the rest of Italy

disgusting to be honest

Every FUCKING time I just randomly (so like twice a year, it has been already twice now since that Crux) I open some used bike search I get a GREAT bike right in the sweetspot of wanting me to splurge my saving but also be an adult who doesn't need a new bike.
And it is in my town. The only consideration is M frame size, it is not that smaller than an L SL4 Roubaix frame which feels slightly big for me. But it is in my town. I can go check it out.

What do we think. Psyoping me into it or not.

For the use case, truly off road, Polish "gravel", while going fast, being comfy and having fun - akshually yes, full sus is the one.
Gravel will just not work on enough of trails and paths here to be warranted, I already have my shopping cart hardtail but once you get on the forst and field paths you wish you had your back wheel damping all the bumps and rocks as well.
Do I need an S-Works? Fuck no. But it is a similar case like with the S-Works Roubaix I have bought while hunting for a plain Spec 105 - just not enough bikes in excellent shape I could believe in. And black.

 >>/90837/
is that your size? Size 17-18" apparently is M and for 168-178 cm
the one time I rode a xc bike I rode an L at 180 cm and it definitely didn't feel big
price seems fine everything on that bike is expensive (I think)

Last spam before I doze off, my current mtb vs that FUCKING Epic.

Stack: Rockhopper L 626mm vs. Epic M 591mm → Rockhopper is noticeably taller (more upright riding position).
Reach: Rockhopper L 445mm vs. Epic M 445mm → Identical.
Stack/Reach Ratio (approximate fit feel): Rockhopper ~1.41 vs. Epic ~1.33 → Epic feels more stretched/aggressive for the same reach.
Wheelbase: Rockhopper L ~1152mm vs. Epic M 1148mm → Very similar overall length.
Front Center: Rockhopper L 719mm vs. Epic M 719mm → Nearly identical.
Head Tube Length: Rockhopper L 105mm vs. Epic M 100mm → Similar.
Seat Tube Length (C-T): Rockhopper L 450mm vs. Epic M 430mm → Rockhopper has a longer seat tube.
Fork Offset/Rake: Rockhopper 46mm vs. Epic 44mm → Minor difference.
Trail: Rockhopper 97mm vs. Epic 106mm → Epic has more trail (more stability at speed).

Es la hora.

In 2023, british menace Archie CROSS and local hero ROUGIER-LAGANE were beating of on the mythical slopes of Gran Bassin only to get humbled by Natnael BERHANE at the meta.
At the same time, James JOBBER being dropped out of the gruppo principal and another menace STEDMAN, then in maillot jaune, haplessly lachee'd.
Now those were the times.

Then in 2024 came the super doped team of Felt Felbermayr (ZOIDL's galacticos) with Piotr BROZYNA and Felix RITZINGER making everyone feeling a little stupid, putting 2 minutes solo back-to-back on the hopeless pedalton. BROZYNA was so sulphurous he was forced to retire at the ripe age of 31 (late twenties).

The shame was so big the 2025 edition was cancelled altogether.

STEDMAN also is retired
EISENBARTH, 3rd GC, also retired
YEMANE, the 6th GC, also retired
CROSS last started in India, at the infamous Poo Race and wasn't seen since. Police suspect foul play.

that race is a killer of careers

It is a 2020 bike with barely enough gearing plus first and foremost I really don't need it.
It is just adulting.
Like if Brtek was to buy a second summer home, he may afford it but if the house and location is not almost perfect then does it really make any sense.

Yeah, that funky triangular frame part was finally scrapped in 2021, but the whole generation of bikes from 2020 and younger at least until 2015 has it.
I was on buycycle yesterday too, they are a tad more expensive but not so much to just throw yourself at that bike in my town.
Not the time for pigging yet, pretty clearly.

 >>/90977/
Yeah I think that's quite short inseam for your length, mine is 90-91cm for 190cm and I think my proportions are pretty average (my brother, same height as I am, has an inseam of 95cm and a noticeably longer wingspan).

 >>/90978/
I always thought so as well, apparently not. It didn't elude me that pant legs usually went way down my heel and got scuffed over the ground but still.
Always thought I am 185 until I measured myself out of boredom like 2 years ago.
It does say on all the proportion charts that yours are proper.

You don't need any machine to degrease the chain and pulley wheels. Buy 1l of mineral spirits and 1l of denatured alcohol from your local hardware store for 4€. Soak the chain in the spirits in a jar, shake it aggressively for 1min, then drain the spirits and repeat 2-3 times until it's all clean. Then soak in the alcohol and voila, clean as can be. Then you can re-wax.

I have a bit of a bertaczeck moment where the lowest gear won't go, and it's probably a cable issue.
Tomorrow shouldn't require the lowest gear, but if I have to be single speed it's going to hurt. Oh well, let's see

DPD package has arrived. Didn't even notify me the courier is coming. They said it is supposed to be delivered today but I shan't be sitting all day on me arse just so the guy doesn't miss me. Of course he did miss me, had to install some stupid app to get the package from a package box.
I will be posting soon about me adventures with disassembling, regreasing and putting back together stuff.

There's a young track guy in Finland who's got remco-tier aero positioning on the TT bike, according to his testing his CdA is just under 0.17 on the track and 0.185 on longer TT's. God damn, he did a 10km TT at 50km/h with just over 360W. He also does aero consulting so I'll probably do some testing with him in the future, see if I can get my speed any better.

Nope, I don't even have a TT bike ATM. The guy who's won the last couple TT nats is very aero but not ridiculously so, has an FTP of around 370-380 and is quite comparable in weight, so I guess I just need to be aero as fuck and maybe get 10-20W more and I can be competitive in the upcoming years. Hard but not impossible, whereas getting a road national title would be close to impossible with actual conti riders like Axel Källberg, Jaakko Hänninen and Miko Pirinen.
 >>/91198/
Just 170km to Turku, he could ride here

 >>/91202/
Yeah he's the most bert looking rider I've ever seen haha
 >>/91203/
I think Trond is Norwegian, but yeah true. There's a U23 cyclist, Matias Ahtosalo, who was quite a bit faster than Trond so he's the real TT champ, but in the Finnish nats he doesn't get the jersey. Same as for the road race, Johan Nordlund won but he was masters-aged so instead Vlad Makogon wears the national jersey now.

Anyway, Tour of Estonia starts today. Lots of top Finnish talent riding, like Matias AHTOSALO, Petja TEPPO and Axel KÄLLBERG, alongside local heroes like Rait ÄRM and Oskar KÜÜT.

 >>/91209/
Heh very rude! And yeah, Källberg is a teammate in national races and the others also race here in Finland. Ahtosalo is probably the biggest favourite for the nationals this year, very strong with like 430W ftp and good anaerobically as well.

 >>/91276/
Most of the Tour team besides the superdomestiques are probably with Pogi in Suisse. That's most of UAE's strongest rouleurs who didn't go to the Giro.

Oliveira, Vermaerke and Sivaque are still good options. If they lose too much time in the TTT it will be due to setup, not team strength imo.

Also, probably good that there isn't the usual 3rd or 4th UAE looking for their own result. All loyal boys. Almeida and Del Toro (not even sure if the former will be in shape to ride for himself) are probably glad none of the rats made it in.

Two Almeida interviews published yesterday. 2nd one is paywalled.

Basically he says that after Catalunya he did a bunch of testing and the numbers were all fucked. Apparently they never found a cause, but he's fine and has been training for 3-4 weeks. He says his main Dauphiné goal is being a hjaelper and that he doesn't think he'll be in good condition to go to the Tour. His schedule for the rest of the season is still San Sebastián, Burgos, Vuelta and WC.

So yeah, my dear goomblers, pick at your own risk. Personally, I might still pick him because you should always pick your boys.

It used to be cheaper, but it came with entry level DT Swiss wheels, while now they come with Carbon wheels made by their competitor Cube.
I had a look at their website earlier today, theh are selling off some old Endurace Carbon frames for rim brakes. I assume it's around 600 Euros, as I get shown the cheaper Suisse price with lower VAT.

 >>/91392/
I bet the root of all evil is the canyon frame. You can't adjust shit because idk the derailleur mount and dropouts are fucked. And your brakes don't align properly because the mounts are not faced. I bet that one is true for sure

 >>/91422/
clear no
if you look at it logically it's the slowest possible road bike frameset (super heavy, least possible aero, flexes a lot) you can buy and steel is really fragile, even light crashes can dent it. So you spend a huge amount of money for a product that is inferior in every regard but looks and potentially short lived.
I can see titanium frames because you can do some more than just round tubing and custom geometry outweighs everything else

 >>/91428/
 >>/91431/
imo if anything changing industry standards are what kills frames not material failure. You can probably ride any frame for 20++ years and put 200k km on it zonder chute catastrophe but what ends up killing it is new hub/bb/brake/wheel/anything standards that have long since pushed the old stuff out while the new stuff won't fit your old frame
